This one is going to haunt me.
It's frustrating to snatch a tie from the jaws of victory by forgetting there were points face-up in Archives.
But then to repeat the same mistake two rounds later is... deflating. I knew this deck would be challenging and still I underestimated the mental load. (I struggled on the Corp side as well, despite being much more comfortable with that deck.)
In the end I piloted Loup to 1-0-2. I beat Nuvem and tied against Sportsmetal and Neurospike Azmari.
Takeaways for next time:
1. When I'm preparing for an event I need to start looking for a runner deck more than 10 days in advance.
2. I need to practice playing in paper more often.
3. Next time I decide to play a deck this complicated I should probably pick a second deck that's much simpler.
Great event. Would play again.
- Shout out to Kysra for taking home the win!
- Big thank you to Dee and Lucas for giving me a crash course in the archetype and advising on the tech.
- Thank you to Kyle for loaning me a Hippo last minute (but don't tell him that I used to to trash a Hydra).
- Thank you to Lucas again for organizing the CO and for herding the NJ meta to a meetup twice a month.
(Yes.. I did play this deck with 14 influence... It's incorrect. But in my defence, I forgot to find an inclusion after I cut DJ Fenris.)
