SlySquids Provoke2Purge v2.2

SlySquid 4751

This deck is trying to provoke the corp to spend time reacting to me, the whole theory is to be able to get Hivemind up to three virus tokens asap after a purge.

How I plan to do that is hosting it on #prog and having two Virus Breeding Ground producing tokens to move back on to Hivemind bringing it to at least 3 tokens very turn to invalidate the choice they made.

So, knowing that I have the tools to recover so fast from a purge may make some players think that they can simply avoid it, that's just not going to be the case because I have some monster card to punish a corp not willing to keep my deck in check...

Let's look at a few choices...

  • Chakana's are one of the back bones of this deck, it's a slower deck by nature and with a powerful card like this keeping the scoring low really opens up a few fun thing that the deck can do.

  • Parasites and Hivemind are like the PB&J of ice destruction, two very simple cards that bring each other to a new level. There is going to be something very scary about a Parasite that comes out with a minimum of 4 tokens and I can tell you that although I'm sure you can min max out a bigger parasite more often using cards like incubator, but this deck is about consistency over aggression.

  • Another card that is bonkers is Darwin, now although this deck does not plan on running to often i need to be able to be flexible and this is going to allow me to do that, after i'm all set up I can have a STR4 Darwin for only two clicks and a credit. but i can also have it hosted on a Progenitor for STR5 and if i have a Grimoire and SMC i can pull it out to be SRT5 if i need it to crush a few quick runs...

  • Harbinger is just bonkers and a card I overlooked in the earlier versions, that and Deep Thought, but now I'm in the know and fuck am I in love with this idea. These cards are going to let me precision mill and the only way for me not to see the card i'm milling is to purge, this is great because its going to leave them second guessing every turn...

  • last but not lease is Imp... It's as simple as having access to its ability every turn, it's like having a super scrubber.

This is all theory crafting and not sure how it'll play but i feel with some practice and tweaking this will become a force to be feared!

Chakana w/ progenitor sounds great. Perma-FA hate, I love it

@SlySquidout of interest, have you proxied it to see how quick you can get out both 2 virus breeding ground and hivemind, progenitor, 1 chakana. (9 credits) + 2 per each self mod used. i wonder have you though about trying duggers instead of inject. (mulling for duggers) empty your hand, first turn, using duggers turn 2, discard viruses, for dejavu or double ups you dont need, play out combo turn 3 profit? either way cant wait to try this

Thanks @TonyStellato!!!

@Talism no I haven't yet... But I love were you mind is going, that sound like a great alternet to the draw choices I've made and when I start playing it I'll keep Duggar's in the back of my mind.... But the more I think about it, it just looks better... Hmmmmmm lol but I do get money from late game Injects, fuck, you could make a strong argument for both... Thanks man, this is something to think about!!!

I can't help but feel like Djinn is a good tutor option for this deck - with the single exception of Progenitor, every single one of your programs is a virus. You really want to draw progenitor, so maybe cut 2 of the self modifyings for djinn's?

In addition to giving you even more memory, freeing up the influence used by self-modifying code would let you import Cache or some other nasty viruses (hello Gorman drip + hivemind!!!!). This lets you mill even more and allows you to cut some of the economy resources/events, making djinn's ability to tutor more useful.

Oh, also, cyberfeeder.

@SlySquid Any thoughts for Power Shutdown protection? With Progenitor hosting your important stuff and a cost of 0 you'll be a sad panda when it gets

Ya, I'll have to have a Progenitor out with nothing on it @bw, that or an SMC...

Deep thought is bonkers. A+ addition.

Thanks @hatman, but that wasn't my idea... It was Kandiru from reddit and the main reason I changed =) I'll be so fun to do!!!

Btw you deck made deck of the week! I'm having a lil PC trouble atm but I'll have the game up soon =)

I'm loving this deck, but I'm a little concerned about the single Darwin. Do you feel having a second one would be a bit safer? Déjà Vu goes a long way towards bringing them back, but I feel those are better spent on Imps and Parasites.

What about Wyrm? Wouldn't it be a good addition next to Darwin?

Thanks for sharing all these decks and revisions! I'm going to give this a go - added 3 clone chip (personal preference and just love the idea of using the same parasite multiple times in a single run), also dropped imp (hard call but I barely intend to run), added hades shard and 3 Djinn (to replace the 3 SMC, not as good but gets the cards you need early) I think the problem will be speed and the number of pieces. Other small tweaks include back to 3 chakana and a nerve agent (just in case its open, tempted by haemorrhage but its just two token consuming).... Excited to give it a spin though.

Would love to fit in more - cyberfeeders, gormann drips, #toomanytoys

Are you hurting for money without cyberfeeders?

10 Feb 2015 SlySquid

If I was planing on running more I'd consider Cyberfeeder more @matto483 and @imrahil, cause I feel that I don't really install to many for it to matter and as a rule of thumb I don't like reacuring credits... I know it works in Kate because she lowers it, but I feel that my "rig" is pretty small and wouldnt get the full benifit...

Gorman Drip v1 is a great idea and one I'd love to add, I've finaly got around to play testing this build and feel it needs a small overhaul, so I'll be sharing my knew list soon...

What do you mean by Harbinger?

17 Feb 2015 Talism

Harbinger was the spoiled name for grave digger

17 Feb 2015 ddbrown30

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks.

Can't wait to see the edited list. I'm liking this as a base, but I tend to like a Noise list that runs a bit more rather than straight mill and dumpster dive.
