Smuggling Viruses in Cayambe (3rd place, same points 1st)

mao 930

Hi everyone! This Valencia setup really works! I placed 3rd yesterday in a 13 players tournament in Padua (Italy), after 5 turns, but i had the same points of the 1st and the 2nd players. I was inspired by another list that i saw here on netrunnerdb, but i changed it a bit adding Public Sympathy and Nerve Agent that have been very useful! The key cards of this deck are Duggar's and Clone Chip combined with the viruses. Then with Hivemind on Progenitor and 1 Virus Breeding Ground on the table you can do everything! Multi-access on R&D with Medium, on HQ with Nerve Agent, you can use Darwin to break almost every ice or when you can't break it there is Parasite, and you can stop fast advance decks with 1 or 2 Chakana.

Probably if i should change something else, after the tournament, i would put another Public Sympathy in, because sometimes it's very difficult to choose what to discard, and when you've finished the Clone Chips you have to work with what you have left.

Hey, I'm the one who published the Angel of Coyombo deck you saw. I was actually thinking about Public Sympathy and Nerve Agent for a while, but never had the chance to test them out. I'm glad to hear they worked out for you. Congrats on 3rd place :)

Public Sympathy works double duty against Cerebral Overwriter, which can be a huge pain for this deck (having a three-card max hand size is brutal after a Duggar's turn). Nerve Agent is great against decks with very few agendas, that try to get them all into HQ so they are resistant to Medium runs (e.g. Blue Sun).

Your decklist was a light in the dark, i give you all the credits! Even if i think this version works better, as you said i won a match with Nerve Agent against a 6 agendas Blue Sun that was also playing Amazon Industrial Zone. Public Symphaty is useful with Duggar's and sometimes i regretted that i draw it in the end.

However probably if i was more careful against a Personal Evolution i would have won the tournament, i had two very good decks. Thanks again for the inspiration!
