Archery practice - Cards up to Creation and Control

Urziel 79

Constraints: Deck built with a limited card pool:

  • Core

  • Genesis Cycle

  • Creation and Control

  • Honor and Profit (not used in this deck)

Core concepts:

  • Either flatline with Dedicated Response Team and Scorched Earth or prepare scoring server with Archer (via Oversight AI or Priority requisition or by sacrificing Hostile Takeover) as a pinnacle of defense

  • Economy based on transactions (Beanstalk Royalties, Green Level Clearance, Hedge Fund, Successful Demonstration - in total 11 cards) with limited number of PAD Campaign as a supplementary economy cards + Hostile Takeover

  • Hunter / Data Raven for tagging with SEA source as an alternative for Scorched Earth

  • No Code gates - Yog is a really great card combined with Datasucker makes your Code Gates shatter in no time

  • Archer is not afraid of Femme Fatale - bypass doesn't break archer with oversight AI - you need to pay 4 credits even with Femme on board

Strategy:

  • Hostile Takeover will allow you to rez Archer in your remote server

    • turn 1 drop Archer
    • turn 2 drop Hostile takeover, advance and score, now you can rez Archer any time you want
  • Use Oversight AI to rez Archer if you can in case of Emergency Shutdown - use Oversight AI again

  • Remote trap - Hunter/Data raven in front of the Dedicated Response Team will allow you to hit Runner

  • if you have a lot of cash pour that into Wall of Thorns

Deck is really straight forward - with dual win condition - flatline if runner gets a tag or just score in your mighty remote

Nice one. I liked playing against it. I would lower the ARCHERS to 2. Three is overkill and you will never get them all out together, unless at a high cost. I would also toss both WALLS OF THORNS and take 1 HADRIAN's WALL + 1 TOLLBOOTH (same influence cost). This way you will have at least one code gate in the game.

I totally see your point with 'no Code Gates because Yog.0', but if you had just a single 2-of Code Gate the runner had to actually install the damn thing ;)

@Aramaki Idea is not to pay Archer cost at all either rez via Oversight AI or via Priority Requisition or (worst case) with Hostile Takeover and I expect to lose at least one to Forged Activation Orders

@Krams Yog.0 costs 5 and that's total cost of ownership for this card I was considering some strength 4 Code Gates or Enigma, but still it's only 5 credits and passing Code Gates is not denting Runners cash pool. Still I see your point with and maybe adding that one single code gate really makes sense - got to think about it! Alternative is to add Tollbooth as @Aramaki suggested

Even with Yog.0, Tollbooth still costs 3. Maybe drop one Successful Demonstration? It's very situational.

@RvdH83Yesterday I have played with slightly modified version of this deck :

-2 Wall of Thorns + 1 Tollbooth + 1 Hadrian's Wall

1 loss, 1 win yesterday in both games I have used Successful Demonstration at least once. It was included in the deck list due to Identity power (sweet sweet transactions!) and to make runners failed prods on HQ/R&D add extra tempo to Corp.

I'm still thinking - do I need 2x SEA Source in this deck, replacing one of these with another Data Raven maybe would give the same result (tags)?

I like that ice change @Urziel. If you are thinking about cutting a Sea Source for a data raven, also change the Private Security Force to more Atlas. Not only are 3/2 agendas much easier to score, but an over-advance gets you a token to go find either Sea Source or Scorch when you need it. It could even be used on Oversight AI to rez an Archer. Searching your deck for any card you want is very, very good.

@GameOfDroids Private Security Force has it's uses (this card enough was enough to flatline a runner with just a single Scorched Earth in hand) but you are right from raw point perspective it's harder to score Private Security Force than Project Atlas so:

SEA Source - I will check both variants today (with one and two copies in deck) let's check how it works!

It's a shame that number of transaction operations is so limited in Core, C&C and H&P - currently only 11 cards (9 actually payable with ease, Successful Demonstration is situational) - I got to check cards and see if there are any transactions included in Datapack preceding H&P.

Last idea is to replace one PAD Campaign with Melange Mining Corp. to make economy less reliant on steady flow of cash from PAD - I'm not convinced if this is a correct approach - again got to test that.

After a quick glance at ICE list, i suggest renaming deck to: Walland practice!
