Can Bloo Moose Revive Noiseshop?

scd 190

Okay, a quick thought experiment here on an untested deck, and hopefully an opportunity to get some suggestions.

With Bloo Moose arriving this week, we've got another Aesop's Pawnshop-like effect in the card pool. Noiseshop was a dominant competitive deck, but was always tight on influence. The various MWLs gutted it in stages, first losing the Clone Chips, then hurting the Faust/Wyldside engine, etc. But, until Core 2.0 hits, Noise is with us, and I'd like to figure out how to make him work, even marginally well, once more.

For this made-in-10-minutes build, I'm using Bloo Moose as a way to get some clickless econ (burning spent I've Had Worses, Street Peddlers, etc) until one draws into a Pawnshop and then moves into doing Pawnshop (or Pawnshop + Moose for 5 creds) things. The idea being that, given the influence hit, I'll try running 2x Pawnshops and use the Bloo Mooses to keep from falling too far behind in money. Granted, there aren't that many targets for the Bloo Moose, but there are of course extra Wyldsides/Chronotypes, etc. And given this deck only cares about recurring viruses, maybe this will work.

Multiple breakers because, well, no influence for Faust now, and we live in a world where Skorpios is a thing. A lot of Noises have been running just one each of the conspiracy breakers, and I won't do just that? So, a Yog for the free influence, and One God of War because an AI is potentially useful in a pinch, and hey, virus.

There's still a free influence here to spend on something and it's a messy 47 cards. This obviously isn't tested, and it's nothing new, really. Just an idea. Any suggestions or additional ideas? Is Noise salvageable and does Bloo Moose help?

You can still play Noiseshop reasonably well. It's not dominant and whenever you run into CTM or IG you'll be pretty sad..... but those are just going to continue to be problems for the archetype. I think you really want 3x pawnshops because they're so crucial to the deck. If you want a Yog maybe cut a parasite? The other way people go is Levy but you obviously aren't doing that with Bloo Moose. I'd probably still slot Darwin over God of War if you need AI. Noise can't really afford to be tagged.

Anyway I think the Bloo Moose could help. You recur Viruses but you generally have an idea of which 1's and you can only recur 6 anyway. I think it's a solid idea worth testing.

I'd say -1 Clot, -1 Cyberfeeder -3 Lamprey, -1 Parasite, -1 Yog, -1 God of War, +1 Aesop, +1 Imp, +1 IHW,+1 peddler, +1 Bloose, +2 Scheherazade

Generally against non-Skorp/PU/HB you suspect has ark lockdown you can get away with selling your breakers to Aesop (after you run out of caches) so you don't really need the Lamprey. Charizard will give you an extra credit from every install of your breakers and caches and is more versatile (and cheaper) than Cyberfeeder.

Clot is hard to make stick in Noise, especially as you have no instant speed way of finding it or recurring it so it's probably not worth the slot.

3 Peddlers because you have very few events and there's nothing more satisfying than making 10 off a fully loaded Cache (0 install cost from Peddler, 1 for install on Charizard, 4 counters for Grimoire, 3 to Aesop and 2 to Bloose).

Medium is a crutch. God of War is horrible when you rely on your resources and it's too expensive to break anything to boot. You don't need both Yog.0 and Black Orchestra; make a choice. Imp is better than Lamprey and you should run 3 of both anyway. Getting more Clot in there is probably a good idea, though even Moons seems to play Cyberdex, so who knows how good it really is. Daily Casts could probably be better used elsewhere. Could probably use added consistency instead, since Peddler and I've Had Worse are just as good with the Moose.

Great suggestions so far!

@shiiuga If those changes go into play, might as well not be Noise. Those Lampreys are pretty solid mill-pawn-moose targets by themselves without any other potential effect. Scheherazade doesn't get you there if you're not already there, and 3x Imp is just...ehhh...not solid? It's not cheap enough to plop down just to mill-pawn-moose and most of the time they are situational, not critical card. Clot...eh...yeah. I hesitate on that one. Places I see to trim include the Clot and the Cyber Feeder. Those get you down to 45. Drop Yog for Employee Strike. ES can be a game changer in too many matchups to not want it around.

1 free influence - perhaps you could add Hades Shard?

I think the answer to the question this deck posed was probably “No.”
