Loopy Tennin Musashi Style MK2

lp87 58

So, this is something I've been tinkering around with a bit. It's called Musashi style because of Ben Musashi. The previous version ran Batty and Cobra for some potential rigshooting (or run ending). It's Mk2 because it dawned on me that Neural EMP opens up a world of murder. It is post-rotation oriented.

The basic game plan is to be slow and annoying. Make money, ICE up, get tokens. Data Loop and Kakugo make stealing Obokata really hard. Ben makes it worse. He makes it worse for any agenda, really. If your opponent goes too hard, you might EMP them to death. Or maybe you tennin advanced a Snare!, pretending it's Obokata, and they run hard and nearly flatline, losing them the base hand size they need for the Obokata you just put in. If you are at match point, they might die to Shock!, thinking it's Nisei MK II. And of course, these cards also lay about in your centrals, causing havoc in general.

ICE Beyond what's already stated, the other ICE is there to block and/or tax your centrals. I run DNA Tracker over Chiyashi, just because it's cheaper, and a better surprise when they dig up paperclip for the ice walls. Some of the ICE is advancable because one day, one great day, you will play Mass Commercialization for 10 credits or more.

Agendas Obokata is the name of the game. Nisei ends runs, which is great. It can stop a clutch syphon, or force the runner to go down Data Loop lane once more, ending their hand. House of Knives adds threat. Any time they at 3 cards, you can ping them, and Snare! might do them in. It can bring them just out of reach to steal Obo or something Ben is watching over. Philotic is there to round out the numbers.

Ops Basic money makers, Hedge Fund and IPO. Mass Comm x2 for the mid to late game. 2x emp can end a runner. 2x Preemptive Action to put mass comm and snares back in, maybe ice if some have gotten nommed. 2x Shipment from Tennin just in case the opportunity arises. It can score HoK or even Nisei out of hand, finish an Obo that got tennin advanced, or even jack Mausolus up to 3.

All in all, I have had fun with it. It sure isn't super-competitive (my decks are not such in general), but has done surprisingly well in a variety of matchups.

this is two cards from being a cache refresh deck (excalibur and shock)

I stole the idea, put it into PE and watch the runner kills himself everyday all day. Why take Tennin over PE for this deck?

I could see that being sweet, especially with a few junebugs and overwriters in the mix. Hm. I went with tennin as a way to get the mass comm econ to work well. Runners who can will pick away at your centrals and ignore the stack of ice that is your remote. At 7 a pop, 2 or three Data Loops gets pricey when they come at the remote and you now need to rez it all right now. Also, being able to blank install and sit back and then never advance until they take a turn to catch their breath opens up surprise scores for Nisei and Obo (Obo if you have shipment). Lastly, It's not meant to be a flatline deck. That just can happen. It can score easily, and threaten match, while also threatening a flatline. It puts a lot of pressure on the runner. I like my decks to have a bit of versatility in playstyle, I guess, lol.

No Film Critic hate in this deck? Ben Musashi and Obokata Protocol both die to this card! Sure Mausolus will see to they get tagged, but MCA Informant or Voter Intimidation seems like a good plan...

No kidding, right? I just had no clue what to cut, so I just gamble on the matchup lol. One could cut the shipments or the bens for voter. Or drop a loop for MCA.
