The Root was a great investment. Placed on the new shores of the Breaker Bay Side, gives all the economy and infrastructure we need to reach Eden, whatever new planet it means.
Deploy it, if needed with the help of that bunch of executives and hedge funds we will finally get rid off, and start building up some defenses, which you should be able to install, advance and rez almost by the Root entirely. Remember you can use it on both turns, yours for upgrades, advances and exbootcamp/rez and the runner's for ICE. Most of the ICE are cost 3/4 being free rezzing the first one during the first run, and another one in your turn with the exboca. Use Will-O-The-Wisp on some central with the same subtype of ICE than your scoring server, when you remove the icebreaker with WOTW, go for scoring: sign some government contracts while doing your research projects, and don't forget to secure the Eden fragment on Glenn station.
See you in New Earth

Personally, if I were running The Root I would be putting in at least 1 copy of each of the space ice. Banking on using The Root on the runners turn can very often mean wasting those 3 credits I found in my Gagarin. Advancing space ice 3 times means you're getting an even bigger discount on your rezzes if they do decide to run. |

Yep, space ICE are ok but I decided to try to go quicker on the scoring. You can always rez with executive bc and use there the Root creds, or use them on some upgrade, or of course advancing agendas or ice walls. Usually I don't find myself misusing the Root on my turn. This way, unless you have to advance, you can use the clicks to draw for agendas or more ice if the situation is favorable. |
Love the Will-o'-the-Wisp plays - such a great way to take out breakers and open up scoring windows without risk of immediate recursion (short of a Clone Chip into a Self-modifying Code).
I think to really make use of Gagarin you either have to go horizontal with assets or vertical with upgrades, and this is the first solid-looking deck I've seen that attempts the latter. Excited to try this out!
