WORSTshiko (12th @ EMEA 2023)

The Hershiko list I brought to APAC was very good considering the state of the meta. Multiple people have proposed innovations to it, with rongydoge just adding laundries and theprocess making more substantial changes to the whole concept.

I have been such a bad bad Netrunner for the past couple weeks, playing sloppily during practice and not paying enough attention to what the deck needed. I pivoted to fried shrimp one day before decklist submission, then back to this underdeveloped list just in time.

This is not very optimized and has some unfortunate meta calls. It tries to stretch to cover too many matchups, and notably it dedicates too many slots (No Free Lunch, the funny 1x Maw, the two girlfriends) to scawy asset decks that didn't actually manifest at EMEA. It has problems dealing with rushy corp because finding the breakers can take too long, and if they do early you don't have enough burst to install them, and Hermes also often doesn't show up in time.

You could try to fix this by dropping the aforementioned cards and trying to put some money and breakers back in, and maybe the third Hermes, but honestly I recommend looking at the Hoshiko lists that other people took to the top cut, there are much better solutions to all the problems the deck has.

The only worthy innovation here is probably the single copy of Finality (a suggestion by Kyra iirc), which often whiffed on the day but is still invaluable and a lot better than The Twinning. It also is very good to recur with Labor Rights, which I still like in here even though everybody has been cutting it.

I don't think I played this very well during the tournament, I was decent at best. Tsakhia "Bankhar" Gantulga requires some very careful attention if you want to use it while juggling all of the very limited pieces that you have, and I didn't pay enough. I lost games because I had moshed the breaker that I absolutely needed in the matchup, or because I threw away too much economy or managed incorrectly. I somehow went 3-3 in Swiss, and then 0-2 in the cut with this, while my Corp deck carried me very smoothly because Keeling is amazing.

I'm way more excited about fried shrimp going places once we learn how to actually play it, and also about other factions actually being good now. Thanks to the judges and TOs and casters that made this great tournament possible, hopefully I'll start taking something different to the following ones <3. Not a promise.
