Jet-Fuelled Gacha Life (7th in Swiss @ Oz East Nats [1-3])

On the flip side to the Chad Corp deck that carried me into the cut at Australian East Nats (list here), my Good Stuff Hosh deck proved to be a little underwhelming by going 1-3.

Not a huge amount to say about this deck, except that it is a different type of “Good Stuff” to most Hosh decks.

As the Sydney Android Union would (with rolled eyes) tell you, I am a Shaper player at heart. I love nothing more than Shaper Bullshit Shenanigans, but I could not come up with a Shaper deck that I enjoyed, which was also somewhat competitive (alas, Kit, my love. Your 10 inf means we can never be together, but I won’t stop trying).

So, I did the next best thing… I took the most Shaper-like non-Shaper ID there is (yes, she is – fight me) and built a deck around a core Shaper card. In this case, K2CP Turbine, as I saw it as the best way to make braking ice as cheap as possible (even better when Ice Carver is added). The rest of the deck builds itself with regular “good stuff” for Hosh, but most notably, there is no Hippo. I figured that with Turbines, playing Hippo was not needed as I could get through ice relatively cheaply. I also played The Companions and Ice Carver as I was using Odore as my Killer.

However, many of the top decks in at the tournament had moved to speed and FA to mitigate against Hosh, and in 2 of her matchups she simply could not keep up with @locke’s R+ Asset Spam and @bemidiot’s Big Deal Outfit.

Her third loss in the tournament was against @bluestar’s Jinteki Shell Game. Which I actually thought I was doing pretty well in… right up to the point when @bluestar Moon Pooled into a Clearinghouse and flatlined me. I did not see that one coming at all.
