Digital Evolution 2-0-1 NZ national 2024-09-21

Placed 2th in the New Zealand National (2024-09-21). Sadly, I could not attend the top cut, due to life obligations.

• Win vs FireRL on Hoshiko Shiro: Untold Protagonist. I let 6 points in archive, and got to Punitive Counterstrike.
• Win vs Jai on an iteration of chouxflower 419: Amoral Scammer. That was a difficult matchup. 419 is well positioned against a possible trap deck that want to do punitive. Here, I had 3x Anemone on the remote protecting Fujii Asset Retrieval and Neurospike in hand. Jai knew it and tried to play around it. But not enough econ and too much damage after stealing the Fuji. Punitive to hand the fight.
• ID vs BoreholeAg/Santa on Arissana Rocha Nahu: Street Artist. It was late, we didn't play that one.

Game plan : Flatline the runner with Punitive Counterstrike or Neurospike. EVERY agenda is a trap!

Mulligan plan : Ices in hand.

Ice are meant to tax the runner. Anemone goes exclusively on the remote to setup the Punitive Counterstrike after a steal.

Neurospike gives you another avenue to close the game. All else is credits.

This is an iteration of a deck that I build with my friend. At NANPC Montreal, I saw the deck founder against Stargate because there was only one Spin Doctor. Gaslight was making the deck more consistent, but if Stargate is seeing play, I wanted to have some counter play.

Also, my friend reported that Charlotte Caçador did not do that much work, so I went for Hansei Review. Finally, I switched out Gene Splicer (which gave a win at NANPC) for Simulation Reset, to have a way to mulligan the hand for Punitive Counterstrike as last resort. It also help against Stargate, Cataloguer and agenda flood.

Thanks to NBKelly for judging and organizing the tournament. It was amazing. And thanks to all the players and specially to my opponent for chatting with me and playing the game.
