This is the runner deck I took to the NH Netrunners Startup CO Tournament This is my runner deck from the , which went 2-1 on the day.
My corp deck was a PD deck with Nightmare Archvies that didn't do too well.
The idea behind this deck is to use Kit's ability with Buzzsaw to pull of Deep Dive early and often. Ideally with Basilar Synthgland 2KVJ to score you multiple agendas.
Prepaid VoicePAD and lots economy events fuel the deck and keep it moving. Unfortunately the day of the tournament it felt pretty slow getting Prepaids, Synthglands, and Mechanocytes installed. You can make up for lost time with Spark of Inspiration with a double Prepaid to go find and install your Turbine for 1, but it often is the case that you end up with two Buzzsaws this way, which isn't ideal. I think maybe going to 2x Buzzaw may be better, not sure. Into the Depths is a preferable method for tutoring, but pretty expensive for the deck which wants to keep consistent pressure. Overclock helps a lot to run the turn after an install.
1st Game - win vs Weasel on PE - Weasel was about a month into the game and is enjoying theorycrafting and experimental deckbuilding - they were on a trap based PE. Knowing the threats available helped to stay alive, and steady agenda steals won the game, despite the typical PE thing where I end the game with 4 cards left in my stack.
2nd Game - Loss on time to Rikhav on Thule - We went to time and I was behind on points. I felt pretty confident that without the timer I was fully set up and in no danger of losing the game - so that helps me feel better about the record of the deck. Rikhav was also new to the game - I'm so excited we got so many new players to come out to the event - and I'd much rather me take a loss so that they could have a good experience playing the game than me whinging about slow play.
3rd Game - Win vs Santi on Pravdivost: Santi had apparently come to the tournament with an illegal deck (Pravdivost with 3x Blood in the Water) having assumed that since agendas didn't have influence that they were free to import. He had a great attitude about it though - playing the deck with automatic losses and then enjoying learning the game against his opponents. We had a very interesting few turns where got an asset advanced to four or five counters where I knew I'd flatline if I ran the card. He also was on Project Beale, so I was a bit worried he'd just keep advancing the card (13 advancements) and win the game on a single agenda score. My only recourse was to hope it was a failed trap and so that's what I did and it worked out, but it was a head scratcher for sure. Maybe there's a deck there?
Watch for the release of Episode 4 of Neon Static to hear more about this deck and the events of the tournament including interviews with most of the participants.
