This is an improvement to my Biggest Ob list that I brought out to the May AMT. Had 2 very long games (and 1 short one) that I was very happy about the performance with. I think the biggest mistake I had this tournament with Ob was rezzing a solo Ice Wall forgetting about how Ashen Epilogue could bring back the Egrets to allow for mill like 10 turns later.
This is definitely a bigger improvement compared to the last Ob. For one, no shuffling in person (To those of you at the local, I would again like to apologize). I also mixed up a lot of the tech cards in a way that I think really helped the list out.
I brought this as the replacement to my Urtica Cipher. The logic was that net damage is relatively manageable when expected on the runner side, and I don't really have a wincon off of it. Slowing the runner down by forcing a Knobkierie or Lobisomem reset though could really hurt some lists that I know I'll have issues with, so I can really force some decks off the remote while I build up. I never actually installed or used Neurostasis in the tourney so I've got no idea if this is a good pick or not.
Angelique Garza Correa was my backup on the possibility that my theory was entirely wrong and 2-ish damange might actually be enough of a deterrent. Being an upgrade also makes it a bit more flexible, and it's a better Ob target compared to Neurostasis. Might drop this in the future but a second defensive card I think is somewhat valuable, and I don't have spare inf, so I might keep it.
This is an insane card. In a lot of matchups its a 4-7 credit Bio Vault with 1 less inf and only on the installed server. I find it being installed on either the remote or RND depending on the matchup, but it's nice to have either this or Angelique to tutor instead of Rashida Jaheem if the remote isn't secure enough/I'm trying to hit a scoring window instead.
If I've got Atlas, I can grab Audacity. If I've got Audacity, I can get Atlas. The flexibility for getting either an agenda or an operation is super nice. The threat 3 install can also just be used as a 1-click tutor -> install ice. I felt like I couldn't find slots for any more (hilarious, I know), but I could probably drop the ice count a little to fit space.
Generally pretty happy with this. Thimblerig is king for sure, but runner-ups are definitely the Ice Walls and Tithes. A lot of games I end up with a server that's 3-iced with a mix of just these two out, which is both really funny and a real annoyance for the fact that they're all 1-cost. Envelopment is great to get surprise kills with Bankhar, and Owl is more there for comedic relief, but did get me a Banner bounce in my one game loss, which was fun. Hammer is almost always a "Grab by Tucana or dump to archives" type of ice, but I think it's reasonable tech for all the heavy AI runners that are around right now.
Huge shoutout to everyone I played, and big thanks to everyone who helped organize and run the event!
