Updated from a previous posting. I simply removed Code Gates from the equation, as they were doing nothing for me besides acting as easy D4v1d fodder. Anything that wasn't D4v1d bait was easy pickins for Yog. Lotus Field does not impress me either, as Atman 4 laughs at it, and Gordian seems barely tickled by it.
I considered tossing in 3 Meru Matis when BB hits, but why pay 1 extra (than Ice Wall) for something Quetzal can break just as easily. Only way to keep her out early is to stack; cheaper to use Ice Wall in that capacity. Added 1 Excalibur for draw probability. Ya never know when you might just need one. If you smell a Medium/Nerve dig a comin', and have a Cyberdex down, an Excalibur doin' its thing can really stifle an anarch, especially if the Cyberdex gets recurred with Jackson.
I'm still not sure what to do about adding more tagging cards. Gutenberg may work, but it's too much influence for something that a D4v1d can easily walk through over and over without the tag landing. The only thing that can cripple a Raven is a Femme (and Forked, of course).

Haha, yah, I'm not ready to give up the dream, yet! :P I'm not adverse to trying the high agenda count. People always say "it lets the ID fire more often", and yep, it sure does. I just hate flooding, though, and Medium digs hurt. Bad. Maybe someday, I'll find myself a happy medium (no pun intended) between the two extremes. I've had Crisium Grid in here in the past...this was before Bandwidth came out, however. I like the card, but like Gutenberg will be, it is also more D4v1d bait. If the D4v1d assault is recurring, your plan goes up in smoke immediately. I LOVE what False Lead does, and if I go high agenda density, it will find its way in, that's for sure. As to Siphons, nah...I don't sweat those. :) This deck makes enough money, and Siphons aren't a huge deal in my current meta (surprisingly enough). I will adjust, however, if I am forced to do so. Milling IS a thing, though...and has proven to be a bit of a bane to this deck in the past. I need to be more precise with my Jackson recursion, I think, in order to counteract that. That's a player technique issue that I am sure I can fix. |

I understand being wary of D4v1d, but at zero to rez, I don't mind the exchange with Bandwidth as much, personally. I've been seeing more builds with 10-12 agendas lately, whereas mine runs 13-14, so maybe Argus is beginning to find that happy medium (pun, intentional or not, totally appreciated). It certainly seems like you've figured out a solid economy, though, which is a large part of the battle in crushing runners. Looking forward to the next iteration! |
Glad to see you're still rolling with Argus! I've been meaning to upload my most recent rendition, though I still swear by a high agenda count :)
It may change your build beyond your comfort level, but have you considered Bandwidth and Crisium Grid? It's been working in my Argus as a way to get a tag to stick, but I also run False Lead to ensure they can't remove it. Still, Crisium doubles as counters to Siphon, Wanton, and so many other runner shenanigans.
