[Startup] Remoteless PD (5-2-1 at Worlds 2023)

cros 279

This is the deck I took to Crown of Server Extravaganza at Worlds on Friday and then to the startup tournament on sunday, I decided to take this one because I didn't like Drago nonsense (even if strong), it is basically a restyling of the deck I brought to startup GNK some months ago going undefeated.

The basic idea is to play totally remoteless, in startup Boat is a staple so I wanted to give it as few target servers as possibile, this means a pile of ice on R&D, some on HQ (depending on the agenda situation and opponent) and Nightmare Archive to protect Archives.

Ideally you want to FA three 3/2 and a 2/1 (maybe a second and a third just to recur important econ cards) slowing the runner with the -1 from Nightmare Archive, they are also needed to make the two Ontological Dependence at least 3/2. Whenever you FA an agenda you take back the Biotic Labor or an economy card if another copy of Biotic is in hand. This is possible just because at the moment Clot is unplayable in Startup without instant speed tools.

The three Mr. Hendrik are there just to be installed together (at least 2 of them) on a central server in order to give a single Core damage even to the most careful runners and activate Ontological Dependence as a 3/2.

Bran and Bloop are enough taxing also for Boat and Botulus and make the runner check centrals less often. While the new addition Tatu-Bola is so good providing hard ETR and some cash when the runner finally pass it, it is also great with Arissana's Trojans.

The deck is hungry for money and Your Digital Life is amazing, it is the card you want most if you are not recurring a Biotic and can provide much more cash than any other operation.

The single Send a Message is a liability in the deck, you will never score that but Nightmare Archives help even in case of steal.

During the 3 days the deck performed really well with a result of 3-1-1 in the team event and 2-1 in the startup tournament. My mate Drager took my list to the startup event and closed with a score of 2-1-1 with just a single game of playtest.
