[SUNSET] Femme Fatale Seeks Androgynous Hottie 0.2 1-2 in Zu

Vectorz 20

harmonbee's original Androgynous Hottie Seeks Femme Fatale is a fun favorite of mine. Even when it isn't competitive, it is still fun!

This picks up the concept and puts it into Sunset. The most critical addition is Rejig, as it allows to 'rescue' stranded Femme Fatales, if the ice they bypass gets trashed or is no longer relevant. As such the deck is suprisingly consistent in getting into servers, even with several ice.

It went 1-2 in the tournament, but it could have been 2-1, as a last turn 5 card dig in R&D failed to connect.

Oh nice - I'm glad you're having fun with the deck! And that you're continuing the Androgynous Hottie line lol

All the changes you've made to bring it into Sunset seem sensible, especially moving to Hermes now that you have access to more economy options. I have some curiosity questions:

  1. How have you found Debbie "Downtown" Moreira? I cut her from my Mercury decks because I found that I was making too few non-run event runs to actually take the credits off her. She might be useful for asset spam, but then Miss Bones may be an easier shout?
  2. Have you found that 3x Rejig is necessary?
  3. Has Always Have a Backup Plan done much work for you? I was always a little nervous to let an ice fire in order to then bypass it so never considered it, but maybe I was wrong.
  4. Why Verbal Plasticity over the third The Class Act?
  5. Have you been able to play Reprise much, especially with Hermes doing a fair amount of work already? I love Reprise so much but was struggling to play it at times.

Sorry for the barrage of questions - I'm delighted to see someone else pick up the deck and am just very curious about your thoughts!

Hey. no worries. Your first 'hottie' deck was the one that made Mercury click for me, so I love the series! NB: SpaceIce took second in the March AMT with a very similar deck, on stream at 3:25 and 5:57 . I wasn't involved in any way, but it seems to be a very similar deck - big guinea pigs being the most notable difference, I've noticed.

  1. Agreed. Something of a legacy from the original deck, with a sprinkle of food The Twinning. Miss Bones might be better, although the deck does not trash that many installed cards. I also considered Red Team or Sec Testing for straight up econ, but with Eru as a finisher, I did not want to encourage the corp to ice up archives. Although people that played the deck before might do anyway ;)
  2. On balance, yes. I didn't play all 3 that often (unless when facing Ob), but having 3 for early draw, consistency, pivoting and backups is worth it in my view.
  3. I included it from a 'all the bypass' mindset, but found it surprisingly good. It deals well with Magnet and is ok against Border Control (we don't do Econ denial anyway) or Bran, if you click through the first sub or gamble on there not being another ice. I would say it is best early on, when the rez might be punishing or for a checking an install behind a single ice in a remote (as that is likely to be an ETR).
  4. And ultimately unfounded worry about draw. 3rd Class Act is strictly better.
  5. No, and 100% agree. It doesn't fire often, but it has the potential to create very memorable games. I think style over performance suits the ID ;)

Yeah that all adds up - thank you! I'm looking forward to experimenting with this with some of the new scoops we've seen. And you're particularly right about keeping in Reprise for style :)
