Startup Eulogy: Q-Loop Expresso

Here lies my favorite runner deck from this startup format.

You were a good one.

As I move on to a new rotation, let me take some time to recall some of my favorite memories about you.

  • Thank you for letting be facecheck multiple servers turn 1 with Bravado and refreshing me with a full hand of cards with Class Act. It was really nice to make money and draw cards at the same time.

  • Thank you for letting feel like a psychic with Prognostic Q-Loop and letting me manifest Boomerangs out of thin air. Even though you forced me to have to remember my top two cards on j net all the time, once the deck started to get low, I felt like I could always manufacture a situation to install boomerang. I always liked to imagine the dumbfounded look the corp would make running into a rezzed ice that looked like I could not get through.
Double props to the times when I could install a boomerang on the first ice, break it, then use Q-Loop to install a boomerang on the next ice. Triple props to the times I could use Inside Job with boomerang then install a second boomerang with Q-Loop to get through 3 ice. And so on and so on..

  • Thank you Buffer Drive and DreamNet for making the Jinteki matchup easier. Not only could I use Buffer Drive to set up a perfect Q-Loop trigger, but DreamNet made it so that if I did not have an installable hardware or program at the top of my deck, I would still draw into gas for a follow up play.

  • Thank you for the companions along the way, Paladin Poemu and Fencer Fueno for being there to install hardware or programs and those sneaky credits to steal Bellona when the corp wasn't paying attention.

  • Shout out to Mantle for letting me trigger Q-Loop on corp turns. While I may have forgotten to use your stealth credit more often than I would like to admit, you made it extra special to charge up The Twinning on both turns.

  • Thank you to @Oddball for creating the original inspiration for the deck. It was so much fun to build off of your original decklist and come up with different iterations throughout the format. Sadly it looks like neither of us could not keep it in it's 'Triple Shot Expresso' form.

  • Finally thank you to the Null Signal Team for creating such a fun startup Ashes+Midnight Sun format. I loved slowly building up all the pieces to have super value on my runs. Perhaps one day it will be rebuilt in a standard environment, but for now it looks like it is time to lay this one to rest in startup.
