The Audacity of this Vit (1st & Undefeated @ Naarm CO)

F3nr1s 197

2nd in person Tournament, 2nd First Place Finish, and undefeated too! I’ll still have to wait and see if this goes to my head or if imposter syndrome takes hold but for now I’ll relish in the confidence that I might be alright at this whole “Netrunner” thing.

Asa Group has always been on my radar even before I started playing standard, the ability to double install seemed ludicrous, and actually playing with it really hammers home how powerful it is, the amount of problems you can put onto the board is incredible, and if any of your assets stick their value is practically insurmountable.

This deck came about watching Jai slowly develop their Asa deck at various tournaments culminating in The Golden Path, but I always found myself running out of credits to pull off a Holo Man score. The pieces finally clicked for me when I saw Tzeetchling’s Jukebox Asa, I already knew the power of MCA Austerity Policy, but my eye was on the Audacity, a perfect way to close games quickly and cheaply that doesn’t die to pinhole. So I jammed my favourite bits of both decks together. Summed up this deck has: The lean Agenda Suite of Jukebox Asa, and its great heavy hitting operations with an added Biotic Labour from The Golden Path The assets, ice, and upgrades from The Golden Path, with an extra Tatu-Bola due to a single Audacity being less influence than 2 Holo Men

The deck has 6 cards that can help you score which almost guarantees you’ll draw into them, and the runner has to try and prevent you from fast advancing with Audacity, Never advancing with Wage Workers or Seamless Launch (or both!), keep all your assets under control, and apply central pressure into 3 Ikawah Projects out of 8 agendas. Don’t underestimate the lower agenda density.

My tips with it are to never rez your Ablative Barriers until you get Threat, an unrezzed Ablative in front of an asset is usually a mistake to run, any asset you pull back is gonna be worth it and you get an Asa install. Your first Project Vitruvius should always have a counter, getting that counter or scoring the Luminal Transubstantiation are usually big indicators you're on the way to win the game. Don’t worry about Central Pressure, It’s a hard agenda suite to steal win off random accesses and there are a multitude of ways to break R&D lock, more remote servers are usually more important (please get at least 1 Drafter on HQ or R&D though). Lastly don’t fear Burner or Clot, no one plays them. (even though they really should)

Thanks to the Melbourne Netrunner Meta! You are all awesome. It's been one of the highlights of my year getting to play so much in person Netrunner with so many cool folks, let alone winning my first Tournaments. Please let me know when my ego gets too big to tolerate.

This is proof that Lat players should just play Burner. Even 1.
