Tag! You're (H)IT 2-1 @ GNK Montreal 2024-08-13

Diogene 4245

Oppression by tags. Went 2-1 at (5th of 12).

  • Lost vs Stephen on 54 cards Esa.
  • Won vs Andrej on Az.
  • Won by default because the player had to leave early.

Game plan : Tag, tag and tag again, then flatline the runner.

Mulligan plan : ice or Oppo Research.

One ice of every kind possibly forces the runner to install every breaker, thus slowing the runner.

Regolith Mining License is the main economy engine. Once you empty one, you are usually good for the game.

Offworld Office is tempo neutral to score the first time with The Holo Man. Making it easy to score the first time, and this will will push the runner to check remotes. Insuring successful runs for Public Trail and trash or steal for Oppo Research.

Orbital Superiority is another way to damage the runner, if tags are floated.

The single Project Beale can be scored for 3 points with The Holo Man, giving the deck the possibility to score out.

False Lead can insure tag floating, after an Oppo Research. It is also a good bait, as it is only a single point.

The Holo Man can be protected by placing a Behold! on it. Sometime, I would place another asset on it, to simulate a Behold!.

Games report :

Vs Stephen, running Esa, I lost to Running Hot, which countered my False Lead in preventing the turn. Then, with the greatly diminished deck (from sabotage), Finality sealed my fate. Stephen used Buffer Drive to get that Running Hot, and it was clutch for the win.

Vs Andrej, running Az. I won on the last minutes of the game, after using Public Trail to push Andrej from 9 to 1 and then using Oppo Research to give 4 tags. All game long, Andrej played around Oppo Research and Public Trail, not making successful runs (running on an undefended archive to use Masterwork (v37) and jacking out before breaching, for example). But this allowed to score 6 points, forcing Andrej to check everything, meaning checking every Behold! that I would put on the board. It was a game well fought.

Thanks to all participants and to Odonuvo for organizing the event, it was a blast!
