Pre-rotation decklist |
I just copied the template from my corp deck. You will see Francis again if you scroll to the bottom of this write-up.
This placed first in a massive 6 person SC at the The Last Game Store in Halifax, Canada. The tournament format used was 3 rounds of Swiss with no cut.
This deck had 2 wins and 1 loss, facing off against Cybernetics Division (win), Architects of Tomorrow (win), and Spark (loss). Cybernetics was a Mushin trap deck that got countered by a turn 1 Rebirth into Silhouette (game ended on turn 3), Architects couldn't get enough economy to handle the pressure put on from an early Employee Strike, and Spark shot me in the face (a misplay on my end; I could've cleared down to 1 tag to prevent BOOM!, but I instead drew up for Scorch protection, which is obviously the wrong move).
Its counterpart in the tournament is here.
There's not much surprise here. This is standard good card Andromeda, with adjustments made to incorporate a Faust suite (Faust + Drug Dealers) deal with fast corps. The majority of the adjustments are compensating for having 6 less influence (Faust + Levy), but being able to break pretty much any ICE usually on turn 1 is a massive boon.
It combines the aggressive Faust tech with sustained economy and a fairly functional breaker suite to stay relevant if the corp wants to play the long game. To put it simply:
Guru is there for Railgun. But it's Halifax meta; of course nobody played Railgun.
List name is paying homage to old deck of mine which won a similar sized SC using aggressive Faust tech.
Here he is:

As an errata, the version I actually brought to the tournament had -1 Sure Gamble for +1 Same Old Thing. Never ended up being too meaningful, but I was worried about losing Levy AR Lab Access and having my game plan cut short.
Continuing on that thought, not really happy with Levy. It's eating 3 influence and doesn't get used most of the time (I've used it 2 times in 20-30 plays with the deck). Can almost always end the game before it's necessary. Unfortunately, when you can't end fast, it's a godsend, so its place in the deck is just barely justifiable.
