Now that I've passed my viva I can categorically confirm that the PhD experience is the same as running against this deck when it's scored two Sisyphus Protocol: exhausting but sometimes you steal an agenda do good research and feel on top of the world.
Not much has changed since my original draft of the deck and AceEmpress' slightly later version. The key change here is cutting a piece of ice for the second Anoetic Void, and increasing the number of Karunā as they are very irritating to break in Startup.
The deck went 2-1 in the recent Birmingham Startup CO, beating a Kit and a Tao, and losing to knife Ken because I drew basically every agenda in the deck in what felt like a non-game. Along with Mercury which went 3-0, this deck took me to 2nd by only 0.111 lower Extended SoS.
Thank you to Lap for running the tournament, and congrats to Hello for winning! (I'll get you next time etc etc)

Ansel is fine, and could be replaced. It definitely has its benefits: a repeated encounter means that the Runner can't click through it easily, and the subroutines are definitely meaningful, but it would be nicer if it got a kill somehow. Also it being four strength means that Echelon has an awkward time into it, which can be nice. It might be worth testing Jaguarundi to force a tag onto the Runner, or an M.I.C. for tax? |
Congrats on defending! Also congrats for running Seraph and finding success :D
Out of curiosity, how useful was the 1x Ansel in your games?
