I AM SINISTAR

Maleficious 36

Uses Hyperdriver to gain extra time in order to set up a turn where you can Apocalypse your opponent and still access their Archives, R&D or HQ afterwards.

For more information, please read my article on this deck: http://corporatetroubleshooter.blogspot.com/2016/04/beware-i-live.html

While the Hyperdriver to access Archives after Apocalypse trick is nice, I would think installing and using a Hades Shard from hand the turn after would suffice.

I would think using Notoriety to capitalize on the extra from the drivers would be a better plan for 6 influence.

@FarCryFromHuman It's an interesting idea, but I don't think it works in this deck.

First, using one Hyperdriver means you have 7 for the turn. In order to use Apocalypse you have to make successful runs on HQ, R&D, and Archives, so that's at least 3 clicks spent. Assuming you have to use Always Be Running during one of those runs, now you've spent 5 clicks. One more click is needed to play Apocalypse, so now you're left with just 1 click.

Second, while 3 Notoriety are only 3 influence instead of the 6 influence you think they are, the deck is at the point where taking out anything to get that 3 influence means changing the entire strategy. Removing one Hyperdriver means you only have one shot at the super turn, so if you blow it, it's not likely to happen at all in the game. Removing one Always Be Running means that you won't be able to use it again until you use Levy AR Lab Access in that game, which means you'll be more vulnerable against ice without a End the run. Removing the Levy AR Lab Access means that once you've gone through your deck once, that's it for the game, because your primary resource for breaking ice is face down cards. Removing Leprechaun makes your memory far tighter. Removing e3 Feedback Implants makes it much harder to break through ice, plus might force you to suffer some consequences. Removing Chop Bot 3000 takes away your primary draw engine. So which of those things are you willing to give up for maybe 1 extra agenda point?

I'm not saying that Notoriety in Apex doesn't work ever, just that in this particular deck build, it doesn't seem to fit well.

Save influence and play "Freedom Through Equality". Its a current that will do basically the same thing as Notoriety, especially if you do it on a turn when the corp installs, advance, advances a card.
