Speccing for assets - 7th @ February AMT 2024

If you know me in any way, you probably know I've been playing Arissana almost exclusively since TAI's release (don't worry though, I'm working on something else). This list is the embodiment of yet another idea: let's try maximizing UAV value in every matchup and see what secondary cards pop up.

First things first:

  • Triple Ika: UAV is double Rezeki in Ari as long as we're running every turn. When we're not, it's still 2c for a click. It's not mu(l)ch, but it's honest work. Slight issue. What do we do if the corp installs no ice, overwrites aggressively, or just plays Ob? Ika solves the problem, being the only Trojan unbothered in all these situations.
  • Aeneas & Wheels: the deck was born during the days of asset heavy, taggy decks. These cards keep doing work even in other circumstances. The bikes are also here due to a previous Deep Dive version of this, following the Biker Lat craze.
  • Pantograph: another remnant of the Biker version, but sorely needed to get down all the cards we have. Aeneas is great, but installing multiples by hand feels pretty bad and slow.
  • Spec Work: Anarchs have Moshing, one of the best value cards in the game imo, especially when paired with Steelskin Scarring or Strike Fund. This is a Shaper slot that's supposed to give similar value back, throwing away a single card instead of 3. I wish there was more synergy with it in the faction. Money + draw events are pretty much the best runner cards in the game, and when the cost becomes an upside... woof! Anarchs are set, Shapers are not quite there yet, while Crims have a long way to go. Still, this is one of the decks where I find it somewhat justifiable. With triple Ika, we're bound to have extra programs lying around, especially with the help of Panto. There are also situations where we have useless Simulchips on the board, so we can turn programs into value and maybe even move Trojans around while we're at it.
  • Boomerang: I've played this in my very first iteration of the deck @ APAC 2023. Installing it with UAV money, getting into a server while profiting with a Kyuban feels incredibly good. Feels somewhat necessary when we don't have MU to play Turbine. This ensures we always have a way of turning install-credits into run-credits even in long games.

Deck's fun, the experiment and exploration was great. Went 1-2 on the day, but I don't think it's bad. Diversion of Funds is still probably the way I'd spend my inf unless I really need to tech for stuff.

GZ to @The King and @Porkobolo for the invites, I can assure you they both went to amazing people. Sadge @wowarlok, too many cuties and not enough invites
