Feed me Rene, FEED MEEEE v3

SaltMaina 2

Got to try my hand at an René “Loup” deck as a new player with limited access to the card pool and with refraining from proxying anything for now as to not get too overwhelmed.

This is René “Loup” Arcemont reference deck to one of my favourite musicals "Little Shop of Horrors" which features the main piece of this deck Audrey v2 built from the following sets:

-System Gateway 2021

-System Update 2021

-The Automata Initiative (Liberation Cycle)

Just like in the movie, Audrey 2 needs blood to survive and enact all your wishes and the equivalent of that in the world of Netrunner, is cards.

This deck's purpose (like many Anarchs I found out), is to go fast and if needed go hard with trashing not only your cards but the Corp player's as well.

When I built this deck, my sole purpose was to keep feeding Audrey, consequences be damned which made me realise a couple of things very quickly:

-First, I don't have access to some great Anarch cards like Steelskin Scarring and Moshing which made whatever cards I trashed from my grip a bit more costly without the reward of trashing them.

-Second, Mavirus is a thing in the meta (and for good reason!) so a lot of Corp decks run it, and I was made aware that some ICE that cannot be broken by AI like Swordsman and Hortum which made me shake in my boots being scared of losing my lovely Audrey! So, I took the advice of my good friend PyreflY (who got me into Netrunner) to at least add a few regular Icebreakers since I'm getting started.

-Third, no matter how much I fed Audrey, I would have to spend my precious clicks accessing 1 card at most and the rest just drawing to keep feeding her so I need some Diesel to gas her up and a Conduit in order to be an actual threat, besides trashing the Corp's place.

-Fourth, Audrey herself needs support to get started, from here bestie the Imp to get those precious Hosted Virus Counters, otherwise she needs help from her good buddy Botulus to go through ICE and get Imp and Carnivore started. Cookbook is there because Virus synergy woop woop.

Same disclaimer for my Jinteki: Personal Evolution deck, which I brought along to have some fun in the London CO 2024: "This is not a particularly unique or good deck, but it was my first one that I kind of liked how it turned out. It'll be something I look back into and laugh at myself and the choices I've made or maybe even the cards I thought were good." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Even if this deck wasn't the best in the meta, it was still servicable enough to award me a singular win, albeit quite a lucky one, with the Hail Mary play of "Spend all clicks to punch through Brân 1.0 subroutines protecting HQ to score the last 2 point agenda you needed, in a 1 to 5 chance with no extra accesses".

Sometimes you just get lucky and sometimes you don't in a game of Netrunner.
