StandObb - (3-1 @ CBI)

Silent Arbiter 378

Ob is somehow my new favorite card on corp side. The ability to tutor whatever you need at almost any time is so much powerful and makes you feel like you are in total control of the game. I've always been a fan of Standoff + Archer, used to play it in a BTL with Sandburg to lock out the runner in an MKUltra meta. But Standoff in Ob is on another, not even level, I'd say planet. If the runner sacrificies something to it, we break something we don't need anymore to tutor something more useful, gain 5 creds and draw.

If this doesn't feel insane yet, Use Mav on the opponent's turn to tutor The bird before scoring the Standoff. Make standoff proc first, then tutor an Archer on your most needing server (being it a central or the remote to score an SDS) and pass the turn laughing like you are the devil. It is just the better version of Bird and Arrow.

IMPORTANT INFOS ON TUCANA:

  • You can score an Hostile , make Tucana proc first, tutor an archer, rez it removing the Hostile to avoid the bad pub

  • Don't sacrifice Tucana to the Standoff, you might need an Ice Wall but Eyy you can use the Tucana proc to tutor it, there's no need to waste Tucana's proc.

  • Sometimes tutoring a border is better then an archer.

The mono Ganked! is tutorable extracting an Ice Wall, making either your remote or r&D a server the runner doesn't want to access anymore, but could probably be the second Hafrún, to make sure your Stavka fires always (even when you draw the first copy).

Trojan Horse and Wake Up Call, those cards are so much powerful in the current meta to not play them in weyland. The Trojan wins alone the matchup with crim, Wake makes it so much easier against Mulch.

At the CBI this deck performed very well, could have gone undefeated if I didn't have to play from 11pm to 7am of the following day but I'm pretty sure even with enough sleep I would have lost against the Esa deck that eated me sabotaging 3 SDS and a Border in 4 cards, went richer then I could have ever been and kept entering my server for almost no money (1 for each barrier, 3 for the Archers, with Beg and Laamb) finding the agendas or the economy that I needed to comeback.

If you avoid gaining the BP, don't you also avoid gaining 7 credits? 🤔🤔🤔

I don't get the Tatu-Bolas. Is there an interaction with another card that I am missing?

@lopert tatus are here because I expected CBI to be 50% mulch on runner side and that ice is the perfect counter for botulus. Alongside with mavirus, border controls and the tutorable magnet eating a trojan that matchup is 70/30. The wake up calls killing either the buffer drive or the knobkirie complete the cake.

@shishu absolutely true, but sometimes avoiding the bad pub is worth more if you are already rich enough :3

Just wanted to say I gave this deck a try while trying to figure out Ob for the first time and its a blast to play. Archer into Ganked! has won me many of the games, and the trick to pull the archer then forfeit the hostile feels super cool.

Thanks for sharing this brilliant deck list - I love seeing new Ob variants! You had an excellent read on the anticipated CBI Tournament meta and this list demonstrates many great deckbuilding choices. I've been playing it with 2x Hafrun and having the constant threat of rig shooting up feels quite strong (Currently 14-1 in testing on Jinteki.net, although that's not worth much). With no two point agendas or Seamless Launch, my gut feeling is the installing/scoring sequencing makes Ganked a lesser choice. Great job at the tournament and thanks again for sharing!
