I just got into the game and I have a limited card pol (2 core sets, Terminal Directive, Creation and Control and a few data packs). There's a tournament coming up and I'd like to participate, so I would be very happy to get some tips and pointers to enhance this deck as it is the first one I made.
Thanks in advance!

Your wall of text is most welcome! Thank you! :D I especially love the idea of using Yog.0 since he's a thinly veiled reference to Lovecraft's Yog-Sothoth (and also because it's much cheaper indeed ;) ). Good point about the Adept. I'll think I'll try the mods with the icebreakers first and mix and match the economy & draw cards afterwards. I was also considering Egret to ease runs on certain servers (R&D obviously, especially after adding deep data mining as you suggest). I'll keep your post close at hand while playtesting, thank you! Now I'm off ordering Earth's Scion... ;p |
Hey there! Welcome to the game, I remember the first tournament I was preparing for, and since then I never stopped going to other tournaments. Funnily enough, my first tournament was with Kit, so, let's see if I can point you in the right direction :)
Your deck isn't too bad at all :) but let's see if we can make things more efficient for you.
First off, find out if the datapack 'Earth's Scion' will be legal for the tournament. Second, if it is legal, then buy a copy of Earth's Scion and replace Gordian Blade with Yog.0. Earth's Scion contains a piece of Hardware called Dedicated Processor; that, on Yog, in Kit, is bonkers efficiency. Fairchild 3.0, a mean piece of Ice that costs 7 to break with Gordian Blade, will now cost 2 with the Yog+Dedicated Processor setup.
I would seriously consider swapping Adept out. 2 to break a subroutine is painful, you're better off using the spare influence on Corroder and Mimic (nb. Only take Mimic if you are taking Dedicated Processor so you can boost its strength.) This would relieve the restrictions of needing massive memory boosts and would mean you won't need Dhegdheer or Akamatsu Mem Chip in your deck.
If you're insistent on taking massive memory machines, then Deep Data Mining would serve you well.
So let's look at Tempo. (Card draw, econ, deck efficiency, etc.) Draw-wise, Diesel is pretty standard, and Process Automation is an ok choice with your limited card pool. Either Laguna Velasco District or Professional Contacts might be better choices, but it's one of these cards you need to find early.
If you do go down that route, Slot 3x Dirty Laundry, and move up to 2x Magnum Opus to ensure you see it when you need to and get that potential discount from Modded.
Consider how much work the Cyberfeeders are going to do for you. Could you find better value in other cards? If you have 4 influence left over would a cheeky Sneakdoor Beta be good to drop near the mid-late game to create massive disruption? I've compiled a quick list of what I'd personally go for, hopefully it will help. :)
Rielle "Kit" Peddler: Transhuman
Event (18)
3x Diesel
3x Dirty Laundry
3x Modded
3x Sure Gamble
3x The Maker's Eye
3x Tinkering
Hardware (9)
2x Clone Chip ★★
3x Dedicated Processor
1x Plascrete Carapace
3x Ubax
Resource (8)
3x Daily Casts
3x Professional Contacts
2x Sacrificial Construct
Icebreaker (4)
1x Atman
1x Corroder ●●
1x Mimic ●
1x Yog.0 ★ ●
Program (6)
2x Magnum Opus
3x Self-modifying Code
1x Sneakdoor Beta ●●●
10 influence spent (max 10, available 0)
45 cards (min 45)
Cards up to Terminal Directive
You really need a Plascrete Carapace to deal with meat damage, otherwise you're at risk from Scorched Earth or BOOM!. Dedicated Processor makes Icebreaker pumps cheap and efficient, and with Yog's free-to-break ability you won't need Dean Lister or Cyberfeeder. I've included an Atman as a good contingency when in need, normally it can be discarded and brought back at the right time with clone chip, (Do note that Dedicated Processor cannot be hosted on AI's, so it can't be hosted on Atman.)
Sorry for the wall of text, and I appreciate this deviates somewhat from your original plan, but I hope it gives you something to go on :)
