Key cards

  • Personal Workshop: Works wonders with the Bad Publicity, as you can spend it to remove counters from your hosted programs. Keep in mind that cards hosted here can be installed mid-run. Face-planting a server to remove counters with your Bad Publicity and then jacking out is a fair play. With more than 1 Bad Publicity, it's encouraged.
  • Raymond Flint: Synergizes beautifully with Nerve Agent and HQ Interface, potentially allowing you to access a whole swathe of cards when the Corp receive a Bad Publicity.
  • Investigative Journalism: Give the Corp a Bad Publicity. Drop these very soon after you draw them. You never know what Bad Pub removal tricks the Corp might have to leave you looking embarrassed with a hand full of useless paper.
  • Itinerant Protesters: Even with your starting Bad Publicity, this card puts the squeeze on the Corp.
  • Vigil: A free draw or an inconvenience to the Corp. Comboed with Itinerant Protestors this card can bring the Corp's plans crashing down. No more holding cards for a wombo-combo.
  • Blackmail: ICE? What ICE? All I see is an undefended Agenda.
  • Stimhack: Lay a surprise smackdown on the Corp to happily get into any server that they thought they had locked down. Don't forget to throw any remaining credits to the Personal Workshop before the migraine sets in.
  • Datasucker: Key support for the low strength breakers. If there's a lightly defended central, hit that to accrue useful Datasucker tokens. Remember that you can trash ICE mid-run, if you have a Parasite on the Personal Workshop and sufficient Datasucker tokens to bring its strength to 0.

General tips

Unfortunately due to the larger size requirement of Valencia's decks, the aforementioned combos don't come out as easily as you would like. Don't fret, even the single starting Bad Publicity means you can run poorer than most and then head to your Day Job to suddenly bring threats to the board on the following turn.

Don't worry if you can't find Raymond Flint before firing an Investigative Journalism; each Bad Publicity increases your gain from Personal Workshop, meaning less runs to get your rig out and reduces the amount each runs costs you, allowing you to run even poorer.

Thanks for sharing. I wonder if you could use more draw, to help offset the inconsistency. Maybe a couple of Earthrise Hotel, or some Quality Time? If you swapped out the Gordian Blade for a ZU.13 Key Master you'd free up an influence...

How are you finding Personal Workhop? The synergy with Bad Pub is nice, and it helps with the more expensive parts of your rig, but it's quite an influence spend and in 50 cards it may not prove useful enough, enough of the time. Also, how much utility are you getting out of the nerve agents, alongside the HQ interfaces? They could be cut to make space for some card draw.
