After receiving a few requests in the casual room of Jinteki.net, I’ve built up the nerve to publish my first homebrew.
I usually take my cues on card evaluation from players much more skilled than myself. That being said, I didn’t agree that Harishchandra Ent. was just used to find I’ve Had Worse before a Scorch kill. Seeing the Runner’s grip in a game of hidden information is a big deal. Especially when it comes to identifying scoring windows. Global Food behind Enigma? “You Know That I Know” that you don’t have a Decoder (or some other trick) in hand. Feel free to over advance a Project Beale, too. No econ in hand? Bait them through a taxing server.
You can also use the tag to reveal targets for Salem’s Hospitality. Good Times.*
This deck almost always tags the Runner during the run. It doesn’t even care if the tag sticks, as it usually serves to fuel Keegan Lane’s ability. Everyone assumes some form of tag punishment, so you can score out while they go digging for Plascretes. If you can’t tag early, then Salem’s Hospitality is a good early play to scope out a scoring window. Go ahead. Name Temujin Contract turn one. See how that feels…
Standard NBN agenda suite here. Used Quantum Predictive Model for a while, but I think sneaking out Breaking News to kill Aaron Marron or use up his counters is the better play here. I really hate that guy...
(Edit: Braking News cannot deal with Marron. Thanks to hi_impact for that. Consider using Character Assassination. Maybe.)
News Team for tags. Sometimes. Mostly to negate a stolen Breaking News.
Keegan Lane is the prime rig shooter in this deck. If the Runner runs through a tagging piece of ICE, they can lose a breaker. Or many more, if the next ICE is Archer. Once a Decoder or Fracter is in the heap, you can start scoring. Keep the Conspiracy breakers under Ark Lockdown. Or make Shapers cry.
Kala Ghoda Real TV is an experimental piece of tech. The Runner really struggles with the decision to trash this card (or not). At least, until their breakers go boom before they can draw them. Or key cards (*cough Levy) go bye bye. They almost never let the second one live.
Lotus Field for Anarchs and their ilk.
Blue Level Clearance for econ and acceleration. Quasi-standard NBN operation econ. Targeted Marketing usually fires, but sometimes people really try to avoid playing the named card just to deny you credits.
This isn’t a Tier 1 deck by any means. It doesn’t have a stellar record, but it’s been an interesting experiment. Comments are welcome and encouraged, and please feel free to improve on it.
*Good Times is a Registered Trademark of Harishchandra Ent. Not really a trademark ;)

first, nice job on the deck! i'm liking it too. Second, why not more positional breakers like IP Block, Thoth, Data Ward,... what about Drone Screen? the meat damage could mean another card in the heap? This might be overdoing it, but you gave me ideas to test again ;) |

After playing with it a bit, you could use Friends in High Places to recur the keegans. AFter all, they are you main plan! |

I threw some changes at this deck last night to play at tonight's local meet up. |

I'd also like to hear about other player's experiences with this ID. Did it change the way you play? How did your opponent play against it? Did a revealed grip make them play differently? |

It's literally impossible to kill Aaron with any form of Breaking News. FA'd, sneak, doesn't matter. He gains two counters on the corp score, and can use them immediately before the Corp can use actions. You do get to see their hand though. Regardless, this is deck is very cool and looks like a lot of fun to play. Looks like a good rush strategy. |

You know what this deck wants real bad? A terminal event that helps to get rid of Aaron while showing you their entire hand. I think you could drop either the News Teams or the KGRTVs for slots. |

deck looks interesting. I'm still missing flashpoint cycle, hence missing Ark Lock down. What could be good replacement? Could Blacklist work in it's place? I know, that it is not exactly the same. Thanks |

Perhaps if you could protect Blacklist behind a piece of ICE, you could score out behind another piece of ICE of the same type in another remote server. E.G., Blacklist rezzed behind Vanilla prevents the runner from recurring Paperclip. Of course, if your meta is light on Conspiracy Cycle Breakers, you could play without it. Also consider Chronos Project. But not both at the same time. Remember that Blacklist prevents Chronos Project from working. |
I'm liking this. You've inspired me to go make my own Hare Krishna Ent!
