The Third Ob. The One that people just forgot about, or thought was gone after Boom got rotated. But in my opinion still the most broken one.
This deck went 4-1 in Belgian Nationals, 4-1 in French Nationals and 7-3 at Worlds. Or it went 15-2 in Swiss and a disappointing 0-3 in top cuts. But to be fair none of these games were lost just because the opponent could see the decklists. The runner would have been dead in the next turn in each of these 3 games, if not for the fact that they snatched multiple agendas with their last multiaccess with odds ranging from slightly below average to "Like seriously dude?".
For those who don't know, the basic combo is as follows:
Mutually Assured Destruction into trashing two cards, one of which is a 4 coster.
Using Ob Superheavy Logistics: Extract. Export. Excel. to tutor Bass CH1R180G4 and clicking it.
Play End of the Line twice.
What changed from the old lists?
With BOOM! gone, we have to kill them with double End of the Line instead. And while that means that we need an extra card in our hand for the combo, it's not all bad. First of all BOOM! was trashable and gave the runner another way to sabotage the combo, which could be a huge liability sometimes. Besides that it also opens up the smaller combo Biotic into Mad into EotL that can catch a runner of guard if they would ever drop below 4 cards (which happens more than you might think).
Pivot is obviously a huge buff for this deck. Don't try to look for a fancy way to use it during the combo, it's not a Consulting Visit, it's just there to get a combo piece into your hand.
Because of Pivot we can drop down to just one Biotic Labor and get a second Bass CH1R180G4. The one-off Bass CH1R180G4 was another liability in the old deck. Because sometimes you would just be unable to do the combo because it was still in your hand/archives and you were waiting for some kind of recursion. With the second one, I never ran into this problem, yet I will still prioritise it's recursion if I find a Spin Doctor.
When it comes to the ICE, it's sad that Mausolus is gone, since this deck really needs enough good 4 cost ICE. But to be fair Tree Line was better than I originally gave it credit for.

How does this list do against Esa decks? Expanded hand size from Marrow, Steelskins, and sabotage disruption seems like it would be frustrating to play against. |
Congrats on an impressive finish, I'm glad I didn't get to face this.
