Metropole inspiration [Standard]

Diogene 4224

Big thanks to my metamate Stephen for theorycrafting this deck with me. Shout out to Metropole Grid for providing the inspiration of this deck with the videos of this week (streamed on 2024-03-11 and 2024-03-12)

Game plan : Use Saisentan and Anansi to flatline the runner. Otherwise, Punitive Counterstrike works as usual.

Mulligan plan : you want at least one ice.

Activate the trap

Initially, the goal was to use Helheim Servers with Saisentan to flatline the runner, by making the ice unbreakable. This was inspired mainly by Andrej, who seems to have a thing for Saisentan. This is why there is 3x Helheim Servers, because nobody expect a 12 strenght sentry at the early to mid game. All you need is 7.

The MVP here is clearly Ganked!. Early game, if you Ganked! the runner back on Anansi, they often lose the game. The fact that it can trigger without being installed is so good. The idea comes from Andrej spoiler video, when showing that Cloud Eater could be used with Code Replicator or with Ganked!. I invite you to watch it.

I tried Code Replicator, but it allow the runner to jack-out, this is where Stephen, from my local testing group (called Dep Dive), proposed to use Ganked!. The magic happened.

To make the combo happen with consistency, I went to 40 cards. With it, you find the combo pieces quite quickly.

Tatu-Bola gives us credits and Karunā is really underplayed for the value it has. But you could also replace it with something like Phoneutria, for a slightly more annoying piece of ice. But if I had to replace it, I would probably go for Mlinzi, because it is easier to make it more expensive with Helheim Servers and a runner can really get their deck thinned a lot by it, especially if Ganked! back into it.

Otherwise, this deck can score out, helped by Gene Splicer.

This janky deck bring back memory from a jank inspired by Sokka, two years ago.

Again, shoutout to Andrej from Metropole Grid for all the content provided to the community and big thanks to my testing group, in particular to Stephen for the inspiration and development of this deck.

Cheers!
