Here's a dirty little secret about core set Netrunner: you probably want at least one or two Decoys, otherwise Weyland will annihilate you. I would drop a Corroder and a Special Order for them. Trust your Crypsis to carry you through until you get the other breakers.

yeah I was hoping to out-money Weyland with mopus, but Decoy seems safer and I assume most decks are going to be running Snare + PSF in a single core tournament so it's probably not actually ever a dead draw.

Crypsis is very expensive, so I wouldn't trust out-moneying Weyland (they can slap an MMC behind a WoS and it will take you a while to nuke it, you don't have SMC!). Also, it's really easy to IAA a Posted Bounty and then advance, SE, SE, and only Decoy is going to defend you there.

Decoy is probably the better plan. I was thinking of trying to free up some influence for parasite but without SMC or clone chip it doesn't seem worth it.

I started playing netrunner by buying everything through the spin cycle from a friend who was moving away, so I'm kind of excited to see what a core-only tournament feels like.

Hopefully it will give you a hint of what will happen in 2017 ;)
