Never-ending Overmind v0.1 (ChkDisk April 2015, York)

So I came 14/16th with with getting (if I remember correctly) 4 of a possible 10 wins: 2 as the corp, 2 as the runner.

General Notes

  • This was the first 5 times I'd ever placed with half of these cards, including Chaos Theory: Wünderkind so I made some really bad decisions when playing. In my first game I was unable to get up to strength for the last ETR ICE as I'd spent to many credits as e3 Feedback Implants despite having 10+ power counters on Overmind and a Clone Chip in play. There is so much recursion and MU here that e3 Feedback Implants just strained my econeny unknowingly. If I had of spent power counters I would have won the game :/ this is how you learn :)
  • The 1x Mimic was there to get around Swordsman. As before, there is enough recursion that it really doesn't matter. As it happened the 1 net damage took the Mimic out of my hand anyway. We both laughed, it was perfect really. Thanks to Clone Chip I just carried on, with more Power Tokens.

What Didn't Work

  • E3
  • Mimic every time it was drawn it felt like a dead draw, I needed strength for Overmind. I think it needs to stay, however, There was enough MU on the board that it would act as an econey card if, especially with Yog.0 and Ice Carver.
  • Quantity of Inside Man - I really needed 3x to get it sooner.
  • Getting Overmind to strength, it was a real drain on econ. I think with better play of Mimic and a barrier breaker and Ice Carver this would be mitigated.
  • Fast advance tore me a new one. This build takes a little while to get setup with no quick econ so NBN and HB fast advance got the 4-5 agenda's scored before I was ready usually 3-4 turns. This deck feels very reactive rather than proactive which doesn't suit Fast Advance. Maybe Clot next time.

What Did Work

  • Free Credits, all of them were great to have: Net Celebrity, Cyberfeeder, Omni-Drive, The Toolbox, Data Folding, Inside Man, Modded
  • Overmind Combo. With this MEGA MU setup they work pretty darn well. MemStrips worked perfectly as installing one equated to breaking 6-9 subroutines on average. With an Inside Man out that usually meant 1 credit for 6-9 subroutines a game, pretty Bonkers. With so much hardware Inside Man really helped my economy. The only downside was I didn't always get them soon enough. Omni-Drive also added to the combo as it increased MU and gave me more recurring credits. I appreciated The Toolbox's credits but I felt like I needed more ways to get it in cheaper. A change I'll be making immediately.
  • Kati Jones - perfect as I'm not running for a long time and when I begin it's not that frequent.

All in all I was very happy with how it performed, a few changes are required and plenty more practice :)
