Sunbuster

MaikH 2068

Caveat: This has not been tested yet, it's just a draft.

If Blue Sun turns out to be as strong as the cognoscenti would have it, here's a stab at a solution: a deck purely designed to win against the typical builds.

Since those mostly rely on ice for economy, this is the spot where you need to hit them. Unscheduled Maintenance should make it harder to bring enough on the table to reliably provide both defense and credits (honestly, I feel that any decent Criminal deck will be a lot stronger against Blue Sun by just throwing in three copies of this overlooked card), and Leela can make it hard to keep it in play.

Emergency Shutdown is an obvious key card, and against the typical Blue Sun start (OAI on a big piece of ice), you should always mulligan for it. With any one of Feint, Inside Job and Sneakdoor Beta, early HQ access without breakers is doable.

If you manage to prevent ice rezzing, keeping the corp poor with Account Siphons and Lampreys should be crippling - apart from the ID ability, the only eco tends to be Hedge Funds and Restructures, after all.

From that point on, build up your Interfaces, and then try to make just one or two decisive runs per turn.

As mentioned above, this is an idea that's untested so far, so if anybody gives this a spin, I'd very much like to hear how it went. If this does, indeed, stand up against Blue Sun, the next question would obviously be how well it does against other corp decks.
