[Okorina] Divested Trust (2nd @ Okorina 5, 3-0)

Okorina ID: Divested Trust - 40/15

This was my first time playing in the Okorina format, even if it's something I've been really interested in due to the pure jank and fun you can have. The approach I had to create my Runner and Corp deck were very different.

For my Corp, I went in not knowing what I wanted to play and knowing that my Runner was more jank and maybe not that competitive, I thought of trying to build a more competitive Corp list.

I chose Divested Trust because I realized I could be running 6 3-pointers and the Runner would have to steal 4 of them and I could gain money from one of the steals. One very important thing that I discovered shortly after is that the effects of the agendas can trigger before I take the agenda back into HQ. So in this case, I would still get the rez from Send a Message and the Runner would still have to trash a program to steal SDS Drone Deployment.

I started with 3 different approaches to my gameplan, the first was a Punitive Counterstrike list, rigshooter, and hyper-glacier with Clearinghouse kill. All of these would require a lot of credits to make their strategy viable so I could not do more than 1 at once. I thought that Punitive might not be the best, as I don't have a way to increase the damage the Runner will take or reducing their number of cards in hand quickly. Also the Runners I was expecting to see seemed like they would be relatively rich, making the kill even more difficult. Rigshooter, didn't seem possible without changing the agenda suite to add Hostile Takeover making it difficult to run Archer. I finally settled on hyper-glacier, and funnily enough, after finishing building, my list had some resemblance to Sokka's world winning list. I also thought this deck would be good as I was expecting people to not be running Pinhole Threading as people tend to cut these types of tech cards when building new and janky decks, especially in a very new and unknown meta.

I was undefeated with my Corp and went 3-0. I was really happy with it and also surprised that it performed so well.

Round 1 (Win): My first team-kill of the day against AugustusCaesar who was playing The Artist. It was a super reg very good value shaper list, sadly he cut out the Pinhole Threading as I was expecting allowing me to create a remote server that was very hard for him to get into. In addition to having a Border Control and a Bio Vault in that server.

Round 4 (Win): I was up against Sauc3 playing another reg shaper in Dr. Nuka Vrolyck. Again, I build a very strong remote and made it very difficult to get in. When he noticed what was going on he tried to win off of centrals and tried to Deep Dive. Sadly, he was unlucky and didn't see any agendas. However, even if he had seen any he didn't have enough time to win as I still hadn't used my Divested Trust ability.

Round 5 (Win): My last Corp game was against Tyranda playing Beatriz Friere Gonzalez. It was super cool seeing someone playing that card as ID. Sadly, I was able to ICE HQ quickly making it quite hard to capitalize on that effect. I got very unlucky this game and did not draw a Clearinghouse in over half of my deck. The Runner also trashed one quite early on making it very difficult for me. I was forced to pivot to a score out plan that I didn't really anticipate. Thankfully the Runner was not setting up fast enough to be able to contest my remote easily. In the end of the game I also did a play that I was quite proud of. It was the winning round for me and I was quite low on credits I intentionally discarded a Send a Message. I knew that they were going to run there as it was the only open and easily accessible server for things like Dirty Laundry. I let them steal it to allow me to rez another ICE on the remote in addition to giving me more credits from my ID ability to guarantee my victory next turn.

Big thanks to Testrunning for organizing and running the event. It was super fun!

Also, big thanks to Xiaat for his help and advice when I was building my decks!
