Latest iteration of Boomer Café. (I don't know for sure that it's the highest-placing Pauleʼs deck, I'm just guessing 🙃)
Went splits on the day, 3-3, one loss was incredibly close against Top 16 finisher Tak (one of the wildest games I've ever played: Turn 1, on 3 from MCA: Café, host Maw, Overclock open HQ. Came down to a 2-server shell game on the final turn: chose incorrectly.)
Against PE, got overly aggressive and went splat, whaddyagunnado 🤷♂️
The only game where the deck fell apart was an R+ who rushed out our kryptonite, Better Citizen Program (literally the first time I'd ever seen it in a deck). Also kept a bad hand: lesson learned, never rely on Diesel to fix your keep.
List is identical to the CO-winning original, except swapped SMC for Propeller, which has been great in the slot (effectively an econ card, pairs well with Pelangi).
Leaning against the Spec Works; in theory they stay useful after dropping Aesop’s, but it feels pretty meh. And in the games where I don't find Coal early, they just sit dead in the grip as an empty promise. Planning to swap for 3rd Stoneship, and a 2nd Aesop’s.
Also planning to replace 2nd DZMZ for an Into the Depths, which I tested a bit before Worlds, but opted to play it safe. I think it's probably fine to live on 4 if we have to, since Boomers do so much of our breaking.
