Why is it called Egyptian Valencia?
BECAUSE IT'S ALL ABOUT DENIAL. ba dum tss
Seriously, though, that's what it's all going to be about. This is the purpose of your deck, the purpose of Valencia herself. It is to tell the Corp "No, you can't do that," and "No, you can't have that."
THE COUP DE GRACE: APOCALYPSE
This is your trump card. This is the card you're going to use to do the most damage and get a leg up on the corp. Don't be afraid to throw down a DDoS turn one, gain money the next two turns, and then apocalypse the third or fourth turn. The whole point of this deck is to not have much stuff that sticks on the board for Apocalypse to turn over, and you don't want to let the Corp set up at all. I originally had two Account Siphon and only two Apocalypses, but I switched to three because it was just too important.
Another big thing about Apocalypseing early is that you want to give Immolation Script some good targets. Blackmail is all well and good, yeah, but sometimes you just have to kill something (especially if they have Executive Boot Camp and are rezzing things like there's no tomorrow).
SUPPLEMENTAL DENIAL:
You've got a whole slew of other denial- Keyhole/Eater, Immolation Script, DDoS, Political Operative, Blackmail, Employee Strike. Use them liberally and often- You've got plenty of recursion through Same Old Thing, Déjà Vu, and LARLA. Keep the Corp honest, keep them on their toes, and don't let them have anything. The only card this wouldn't apply to is Political Operative- save that for Hostile Infrastructures rezzed before an Apocalypse, or one of those nasty Caprices. I've thought about Councilman to help this more, but Apocalypse is enough destruction for me to not need to find space for Councilman since their Caprice won't matter if I'm running on centrals, and Political Operative is all I need to get rid of Hostiles.
You've got a lot of draw power in I've Had Worse, Inject, and recurring them, so just go digging for those Apocalypses. You have to play with Apocalypse- that's the whole point of the deck. The reason we play Apocalypse in Valencia is because, typically, after you Apocalypse, the Corp is going to try to supermodernism out an agenda quick while your rig is empty. The answer to that is simple: Blackmail (or sometimes DDoS). They try to pull something like that, you laugh in their face, slap down an ice denial, and ride right through their scoring server with middle fingers up. This is the way most games go with Egyptian Valencia.
Gilbert, AZ Store Championships:
Round 1: New Angeles Sol - Loss
I've never played against a NAS deck, so I didn't really know what to expect. Luckily, with the first targeted marketing he played, he named Wyldside and I breathed a sigh of relief. After the first Apocalypse and I scored 4 points the turn after, he got smart and named Apocalypse with the second Targeted Marketing. And after I Blackmailed his scoring remote for the 6th point, he named Blackmail. Unfortunately, after Immolating two ice on R&D and seeing nothing through the course of 6 Keyhole runs, he kept me poor enough with trashing Jacksons and Lily Lockwells to fast advance 8 points with two cards left in his deck. Very close game, very nice plays on both sides.
Round 2: HB ETF NeXT Ice Glacier - WIN
My opponent's HB deck actually slaughtered its first opponent in Round 1, and I watched it right next to me, so I was a little downtrodden as I went into the game. Luckily, the combination of Apocalypse, R&D runs, and Blackmailing her hastily scrabbled together scoring servers got me to the win.
Round 3: NEH Asset Spam/Fast Advance - WIN
I had played this deck in testing the day before, and his use of three Hostile Infrastructures instead of just one generally kept me from being able to Apocalypse, and therefore made me unable to stop the sheer amount of assets he managed to throw out. Luckily, though, I got a Keyhole turn one on an unprotected R&D and stole four agendas over the course of three turns. Unlucky for him, but I took it for the win. With the undefeated Corp wins I got, it put me in first place. That New Angeles Sol game was the only game I lost all day.
All in all, I love this deck, It's ton's of fun, and I think it's in a good place to be with all the work Apocalypse can do. Have fun playing it in your tournaments, and let me know if you have any comments!
UPDATE: Undefeated at a (Semi-Casual) Gilbert tournament
Round 1: Surat City Grid/Brain Taping ETF Combo
This was my twin brother, and I destroyed him. Trashed his assets with bad pub, Apocalypsed to my heart's content, and Blackmailed my way through his scoring servers. Nothing new here.
Round 2: IG
I hate IG, but it's not that hard to beat it. I got out a PolOp before my Apocalypse runs to take out any pesky Hostile Infrastructures (which he coincidentally never drew), and ran Archives to snatch some Agendas. He managed to get Shocks and a bunch of assets again, though, and I didn't have an Apocalypse towards the end. If he hadn't misplayed and accidentally put down a Mumbad City Hall instead of a Jackson, I likely would have lost it. As it was, I braved the Shock and won a psi game to get the last Future Perfect I needed.
Round 3: NEH FA/Asset Spam.
This one was close. He started out with a lot of quick assets, but I trashed the economy ones and slammed down an Apocalypse. As he was trying to set up again, I ran R&D over and over while he was too poor to rez the ice (an Assassin) in front of it and I took seven points for the win.

Have you thought about Amped Up? It helps make Apocalypse happen and makes early Keyholes so much more devastating. |

I have thought about using Amped Up, but I found that the brain damage wasn't really worth it, because if I'm keeping cards in my hand (as opposed to overdrawing with Inject, I've Had Worse, clicks, etc) I'm going to want to use them. You should try it and tell me what you get with it though. |

Is the LARLA really needed? More pol ops, a third employee strike and maybe a hades shard might be more useful? |

Given your not going Tag Me. Why Queens Gambit and Dirty Laundry over Liberated Accounts? It can be a bit awkward with apocalypse but I'd imagine you'll often just drop it and money up immediately. |

Update: -2x Hacktivist Meeting, - 1x Levy AR Lab Access, -1x Plascrete Carapace, +1x Hades Shard, +1x Utopia Shard, +2x Councilman I've never found Plascrete to be all that useful, since kill decks seem to be out of the meta (mostly, from what I've seen), and even then it never stuck around long enough with all the Apocalypsing I'm doing to matter in those matchups. Taken out. Hacktivist Meeting didn't seem to deter the asset spams enough for my liking, especially since they could fast advance out of it, so I'm trying 2 Councilman in the slot. I can generally take care of the asset spam with Apocalypse, but I need to be able to derez any possible Hostile Infrastructure on a dime, so Councilman it is. The Hades Shard is pretty obvious- circumvent the Jackson by accessing at instant speed, but I also like Utopia Shard because of how it denies the corp the chance to have cards when Apocalypse hits. The plan is to run HQ, drop this, pop it, then run R&D and Archives (hoping for the random score), then Apocalypse. With 3 or less cards in hand, it's even harder for the Corp to set back up. |

This thing is bonkers level fast. I ditched the Pol Op in favour of a one of independent thinking, and the keyhole for two mediums and a councilman. Councilman is more useful for this deck than Pol Op, whilst Indepenent thinking is both draw and a means of getting back eaters that have gone facedown. The two mediums are perhaps an odd include, but being able to medium dig a corp the turn after apoc that hasn't set back up at all yet is fantastic. |

Sorry for giving you the wrong impression about that Bioroid deck's effectiveness~ I'm just not very good at playing Hayley, and my deck wasn't as good as it could have been because it was tweaked in expectation of more IG. Congrats on the win though, glad I never had to play you! |

Stim Dealer? An Apoc turns off it's damage and you have a few turns of extra clicks to work with. |

Do you just lean on Eater more or on Blackmail/DDoS? If you're hard pressuring with Eater, how does this deck deal with a rezzed Turing over centrals? If that happens early, especially if it's over R&D, then this deck feels like it would be totally hosed. Do you just play hoping that your opponent doesn't figure out your game plan in time? |

The good news, at least, if they rez a turing over a central is that they generally seem to think that you're trapped and start building a scoring remote. That's when you go digging for your Blackmails and sail on through. |

Also, in the single game that I played with it so far, I was a bit confused on the playstyle. With Eater and D4v1d in the deck, do you run at central servers to force the corp to rez ice even when it won't give you an access, or do you never run central servers until an apoc is ready, so that you can rely on Blackmail and DDoS to get you in? I tried the latter strat and, while I ended up winning, the corp was sitting on a huuuuge amount of credits as a result of never getting econ drained. It didn't feel quite right. |

Strategy-wise, I generally just spend my time clicking for Creds, drawing either with clicks or IHW or Inject, and trying to run assets to keep the Corp poor. At least, until I get enough Blackmails/DDoS's/Eaters to Apocalypse. Sometimes I'll run a central with just Eater to force a rez, but only when I know I have enough money to get through it and only if it's absolutely necessary. Unless you have very few cards in hand and the Corp definitely has double scorch, you shouldn't generally worry about the Corp having lots of money. It's not going to help them when you're Blackmailing their hastily set up scoring remote, Immolating their rezzed ice after the Apoc, and just generally Running Amok everywhere. I haven't yet run into a situation where the Corp still having a ton of money after an Apoc is a bad thing. I once let a New Angeles Sol deck get up to 87 credits with Targeted Marketings, and I still managed to blow up everything he owned and dig through R&D and Archives for the win. I mean, sure it might not feel right to let them keep their money (those darn 1%ers), but you're winning. |
Attempting some edits- I've taken out 3x Keyhole (it never did that much, even in that last game. Jackson Howard is just too prevalent and trashing him takes up too much time. I've replaced them with 2x Hacktivist Meeting, since I have so much trouble with asset spam, especially if they have multiple Hostile Infrastructures, and 1x Singularity. Sometimes I hit the point where they have centrals super iced up, and a scoring remote with a ton of upgrades in it. So the trick is to DDoS and then do this, blowing up the server and letting you stop the advance and possibly steal an agenda yourself. I'll let you guys know how well it goes.
