Note: This is not meant to be a competitive deck. This is meant to be a fun janky deck for players who are tired of running the same old servers with the same old cards. This deck will be rather solitaire but is satisfying when you pull it off.
The basic idea from this deck came about from thinking about how to fit Stim Dealer into a decent Runner deck. Data Leak Reversal came to mind as the best way to benefit from a turn with constantly boosted s. One thing led to another and this is what I have.
Average setup is around 12 turns. If you get good draws, you can set up as fast as 8 rounds. Not exactly blazing speed by Netrunner standards but it does ok against the slower Corp decks in the current meta. You will pretty much lose to FA. But that's the trade-off for playing a janky deck, it's inconsistent. I have milled a few Weyland and HB decks on OCTGN, but I'm not gonna claim it's a world-beater. It's not.
The end goal of setup is to be able to mill 5 to 6 cards per turn by having 7 to 8 turns. Activate Joshua B. for the bonus . Click #1 make an unsuccessful run to gain a tag. Click #2 to #6/7 mill with DLR. Click#7/8 remove John Masanori tag. End turn and pay 2s using New Angeles City Hall to remove the Joshua B. tag.
Cost of a milling turn: 2s for removing John Masanori's tag. 2s for removing Joshua B. tag. Average 1 per turn for Theophilius Bagbiter to keep up with the brain damage from the Stim Dealers. WIth 3 Data Foldings out that is only 2s per milling turn.
Whether you use the mills to deck the Corp or to score agendas is your call. Personally I think if you are up against the 6 agenda Weyland decks, just mill them out since there are so few agendas. Against decks with higher agenda card counts you could consider going for the agenda win. Blackmail is your primary remote pressure, followed by Crypsis for support if they are somehow able to rez ice. Usually Crypsis doesn't get installed though.
Joshua B. & [New Angeles City Hall]: 1 for 2s.
Stim Dealer: Up to 3 bonus s each turn. Brain damage is mitigated by Wyldside draw, Data Folding passive s and Theophilius Bagbiter.
John Masanori: For that tag from an unsuccessful run on Click #1.
Data Leak Reversal: To mill the Corp's cards.
Theophilius Bagbiter: Keeping you alive with the help of Data Folding.
Wyldside & Adjusted Chronotype: 2 cards a turn without losing a click. This is what you need to keep up your clicks while getting everything set up fast.
Paige Piper: Use this to trash the excess copies of Paige Piper, Wyldside, Adjusted Chronotype, Data Leak Reversal, John Masanori, Joshua B. and New Angeles City Hall. That can save you up to (optimally) 11 dead draws.
Inject: You have 1 program in your deck. Don't worry.
Hostage: This card is in the deck for 3 purposes.
Primary purpose: Installing Theophilius Bagbiter when your credits are just nice and you are ready to burst up using Liberated Account.
Secondary purpose: Tutoring for Paige Piper in turn 1.
Tertiary purpose: Tutoring for Stim Dealer when the rest of the rig is set up.
Sure Gamble: You know why. :)
Lucky Find: More burst economy to help with setup and to float credits for Theophilius Bagbiter after setup is complete.
Data Folding: Passive credits cause you will never go above 1 used. Helps make your DLR turns less expensive to maintain.
Day Job: When you're poor and you need those s.
Liberated Account: To burst up after installing Theophilius Bagbiter and for the magnitude of the credits gained.
Note: Both Day Job and Liberated Account give an average of 2 per , but one over 4s whereas the other over 5s. Additionally, the gains are back-loaded. You need 4 consecutive s for Day Job whereas the last for Liberated Account gives you the bulk of the gain. Hence, it is important to use Joshua B. wisely to help you get the value out of your economy cards quickly. It could give you the 4th for Day Job or the 5th for Liberated Account before you go full mill the next turn.
Blackmail: Your primary form of remote pressure.
Same Old Thing: For recurring Blackmail, Levy AR Lab Access or if you feel like you need it, Inject.
Déjà Vu: Can do anything Same Old Thing can and more. Can be used to recur crucial cards which were trashed by brain damage from Stim Dealer.
Levy AR Lab Access: Because there are times when variance will mess up your plans and you need to Levy your deck to have enough cards and s to continue milling the Corp.
Fall Guy: For protecting New Angeles City Hall when you Blackmail to score an agenda, to trash for 2s after installing Theophilius Bagbiter if urgently needed or to protect any of your other resources as you see fit.
When do I install Theophilius Bagbiter?
In my opinion, any time after turn 3 is good as long as you don't lose too many credits from installing it and have a Liberated Account to burst back up to 4 or 8s after installing. Cause once it's installed, you can safely use all your burst econ cards to float s as well as install your Stim Dealers.
When do I install Stim Dealer?
The safe answer is after installing Theophilius Bagbiter. And that's fine if you install Theophilius Bagbiter early. But if it's not showing up, I usually will start installing the Dealers when I'm about 2/3 through my deck and with all my draw set up, ensuring that I should be done drawing all I need before I get brained to death by the Stim abuse.
What is the ideal starting hand?
Probably something like Lucky Find, Paige Piper, Wyldside, Adjusted Chronotype and Data Folding.
First turn you could play Lucky Find, Paige Piper and Data Folding.
Second turn, Wyldside (remember to use Paige's ability) followed by a mix of draws and clicking for creds.
Third turn, Adjusted Chronotype (remember to use Paige's ability again) and you've got a splendid start.
Happy janking!
