Description

Doomsday Fetch BOOM! (ddfb)

I don't actually get the deck name. It's magic or something. Credit to @joseki.

I piloted a variant of this deck to a 4-1 record at the World's Icebreaker. I made slight changes for World's: -2 Special Report, -1 Pop-up Window, +1 Interns, +1 Psychographics, +1 Subliminal Messaging. The Psycho win condition is very real so it's much more correct to play with it, but for Icebreaker I just wanted to BOOM! people.

dah combos

Basic: Breaking News scored, Accelerated Diagnostics, Power Shutdown, & Jackson Howard in hand with neither of the BOOM! in hand & at least one 24/7 News Cycle in the bin or the deck, & at least 10s. Do your install Jackson, Shutdown deck, shuffle back 24/7, BOOM, BOOM, play AD to do 14 meat damage.

Broke vs. unprotected runner: with only 3 against no Plascrete or hand size boosts, you can do a pile of 24/7, Sweeps Week (if runner has >=4 cards in hand), BOOM!.

Versus NACH: NACH avoids the 24/7 tags, but if you have the runner's credit pool + their link + 4 (minimum 8) you can play a pile of Hatchet Job to return NACH to hand, 24/7, & BOOM! to kill them. Doesn't work if they have Plascrete too & hate fun. Against Anarch with I've Had Worse in hand (they need two, one doesn't help) and Plascrete, you can return the Plascrete to hand to ensure the flatline.

Scoring out is lame: you can Psycho out with a pile of Midseason Replacements, Interns to install Project Beale, & Psychographics to taste. This requires a much more specific situation, as in the runner has to steal an agenda or already have a pile of tags from somewhere else. If you're playing an Obelus deck that's heavily tagged but unkillable due to hand size, you can play a pile of Sweeps, Interns, Psycho to gain the money needed to go off.

Triple BOOM! Special: in the wondrous land where you draw both Diagnostics & somehow manage to hold onto the rest of the pieces too, you can triple BOOM! from 13. Your first pile is 24/7, Subliminal Messaging to gain a , Interns to install a second Jackson Howard. Then with the SM click, you play a 2nd AD composed entirely of BOOM!s.

You can also straight up kill the runner from hand with the Convenience Shop 24/7 News Cycle & a 2nd scored agenda to sacrifice, or the Butchershop Midseason Replacements to land tags. I'd say that the deck primarily wants to combo off to win but there are plenty of games where your draw dictates a different path. The problem with those approaches is that they're only a single BOOM! so they can't kill through a Plascrete.
