Knights of the Blue Sun

matiez 2

Blue Sun + Grail Ice + Twins.

This deck needs work, but wins enough for me.

The Twins doesn't synergize with Grail ICE. Grails want you to have copies in hand, while The Twins forces you to destroy that ICE. On top of that, Grail ICE is so vulnerable to Parasite. If you want to stick with that ICE package, have you tried Off the Grid instead of The Twins?

I've always wanted to get The Twins to work. After 10-15 games and 2 different decks, I have yet to ever get them to fire. Instead, they usually get trashed or I don't have the ice in hand to discard. The idea was to fire Twins and force the runner to face a double-downed Grail Beast. In order to pull this off, however, three of the five cards in hand have to be Grail Ice. Off the Grid seems like a much more logical choice.

With Blue Sun: Powering the Future, Parasite becomes mostly a dead card. The runner can install, then Datasucker run the same turn to destroy the ice, but that's why I have Interns.

That's why Anarchs have Déjà Vu and Clone Chip. =P (Not hatin', just sayin') GL w/ deck. =)

If you are going to try Off the Grid I highly recommend slotting two Excalibur. They are a pain to break and can be added as a subroutine when in hand by the other three grail ice. One on the table and one in hand means the unique restriction doesn't trigger, and even if the runner gets into HQ and kills the OtG they can't run on the agenda. I realize that's what Crisium Grid is for but as at only two copies it isn't a sure thing (and Political Operative and Councilman are about to make an appearance).

I like The Twins and Grail ice. I've worked with that concept before. I find that it's much better to have some kind of recursion engine with the ice though. I'm still trying to find a good Foundry + Grail + Twins build, because you have access to Reclamation Order and Archived Memories. I've also seen Grail ice work wonders with Mumbad City Grid. I think there are better ways to utilize Grail ice and better ways to utilize Blue Sun, but you found a lot of synergies. That, I can greatly respect. Keep building! I look forward to your next deck! Side note: As long as you're running Weyland, Patch may slow down Parasite a little.

IIRC Twins with Grail ICE is fun if you have a Merlin on board and 2 in hand, after the Runner passes Merlin, use Twins to persent Merlin, they encounter Merlin again, Merlin keeps its subs and you can add more, causing massive amounts of net damage. Typically used in Foundry to easier find the 3rd Merlin, though....
