Hello!!
I have been playing Jinteki: Personal Evolution ever since I started playing a couple of years ago. I used Elusives Bag of Tricks deck as a base and have been working on it ever since. I was actually the first one to beat his deck in a tournament settings a long time ago. But a huge thanks to him is in order! When Show of Force got spoiled I knew that this deck would improve a lot!
It is a bluffing deck. A big part of playing this is to read your opponent and give them choices that are impossible to make. The kill should be fairly obvious, but could go as following. End of runners turn rez Hiro and a Bio-Ethics and then score out a Show of Force that is on board with at least 1 counter on it. (Usually it should have more due to Mushin)
Below a bit about the choice of cards.
Agendas: The Future Perfect got switched out to make room for Show of Force. This increases you density a bit and a GFI had to be added. Of course it is annoying that you agendas gets easier to steal, but THP was the weakest agenda in my opinion. This also have the added benefit that the runner has to steal at least 4 agendas, giving you one more trigger on your ID. Since Show of Force is an agenda so you actually have a chance to score out as well, if they have too many hate cards. Something Ronin could not do.
Assets: Standard PE kill suite. Since Ronin went away (Show of Force works as a Ronin with the added benefit that it saves you a click). This gave a couple of slots so a Junebug and Psychic Field was added to add more spikes. Psychic Field is in my opinion the best card in the game and adding a third is really nice! The rest are pretty obvious. Junebug and Overwriter are to protect your agendas and Bio-Ethics to kill.
Ice: Not a lot here, but you don't need a lot. Smack any ICE on HQ and RnD and the runner will be too scared to do anything. Pop-up to give you a bit more econ, Cortex Lock and Komainu to kick a unsuspecting runner in the nads and then the new addition of Mind Game which has been a huge surprise to me. Runners won't facecheck until they have a killer out and a Mind Game can take them by surprise. And it is cheap! If you win the psi game just direct them into an advanced server. I have never encountered anyone who won't jack out and that serves as a tempo hit. Right now the Eli is actually the weakest ICE and that says quite a lot. You are not going to create a taxing server, but only to delay the runner enough that you combo is on board. This deck wins early to mid game. Going to late game and your chances are quite diminished.
Operations: Mushin is a given and Archived Memories serves as an extra one. Salem's Hospitality works as a counter to I've had worse, but I actually rarely uses it as most runner will draw with them. Neural if you don't have a Bio-Ethics on board.
This might not be a tier 1 deck, but it is a hell of a lot of fun to play. To me this is, at its core, what netrunner should be all about. Now we will just have to see how it fares a SCs.

Chronos used to be a 1 off instead of 1 profiteering. Recursion sucks, but the point of the deck is to kill in one turn, so recursion does not suck that much. It is a matter of taste and I prefer profiteering... It gives you money if you are against heavy siphon but usually you don't aim to score anything until you are ready to kill. |
No Chronos? What do you do against recursion heavy decks?
