[SG+SU21] Building a Punitive World

PreNic 333

This deck is only based on System Gateway and System Update 2021. I would suggest to play this after practicing a little bit with the Starter Deck.

The deck has been designed to:

  1. score at least 2 points early game behind one of the small "End the run" ices (Palisade or Enigma). Hostile Takeover can be installed/advanced/advanced/scored in the same turn. Project Atlas can be scored as a blank 3/2 but it would really help if you could place at least 1 agenda counter on it.
  2. build a remote with Malapert Data Vault and score your agendas in that server. Scoring a Hostile Takeover in a remote with Malapert Data Vault gives you 7 and a free tutoring for a non-agenda card in R&D (and a bad publicity of course). The main target for the tutor is Punitive Counterstrike, since you want to be able to play two of them in the same turn if required (in the late game). You could also fetch some economy but you should normally be rich enough.
  3. use Punitive Counterstrike as a protection while trying to score a Send a Message; if the runner tries to steal it.. let's punish them! :)

The ability of Weyland Consortium: Building a Better World will grant you an extra 1 every time you play Government Subsidy, Hedge Fund and Predictive Planogram. PAD Campaign should be installed in a remove server different from the one used to score the agendas. You can even leave it in a remote without ice. Either it will tax the runner 1 + 4 if they want to trash it or it will give you a nice 1 income per turn.

Seamless Launch is here to help scoring Project Atlas with at least 1 agenda counter on it. You can install Atlas on one turn and then do Seamless/advance/advance/score in the next one. You can use this token to search for another Project Atlas or an Hostile Takeover if you need a final point to score. The ability of Atlas can also be useful to search a second Punitive Counterstrike if required.

Send a Message is ideally the last agenda to try to score. If you get it in the early game, try to reshuffle it in R&D with Spin Doctor or Sprint. When you have reached 4 agenda points, you can try to score the last 5/3 agenda. At this point you want to 1) be rich, 2) being able to play 2 Punitive Counterstrike in a row if the runner tries to stole your Send a Message.

You normally want to have a taxing R&D and Archer and Tollbooth are your best options for that. Also Pharos will do the job. Try to have at least one big ice on the scoring remote and one on R&D to tax the runner in case of Conduit or other cards that would grant multiple accesses. Crisium Grid is also here to help in that case.

Mulligan: try to avoid having 2 agendas in the starting hand; it is ideal to have at least a Hedge Fund or a Predictive Planogram
