So: Twins Target's: Janus 1.0 and Tsurugi and Ichi 1.0

Eliza's: [Janus 1.0] (/en/card/02012) Wotan Tsurugi - I wonder if two of would be good enough.

I wonder if Melange Mining Corp. would be a good addition as another place to tempt the runner into running the "Twin's" server as well as bursting econ.

What's the plan for Targeted Marketing?

Targeted Marketing was thrown in to use the last influence on some economy (which is a weakness of this deck). It could easily be cut. Hate from Itinerant Protestors (which really hurts this deck) prompted it.

Melange Mining Corp. could replace Shell Corporation, but I like Shell Corporation because as an upgrade it can masquerade as The Twins once your opponent knows your deck. However, it's not been smooth sailing and Melange might be better. I definitely have been hurting for econ.

If you dump the Tsurugis and Neural EMPs for 2x Komainu you get another nasty combo - probably more so than Janus. The "Until the end of run" can give the runner 15 subroutines in total to break if they had 5 cards in hand on encounter.

Komainu is very tempting, it was the influence which kept it out of this version. It already hurt to cut one Neural EMP, but keeping cards in hand is a problem. Perhaps cutting the EMPs would work better -- good idea. I got a triple EMP kill on my first play with the deck, that might be influencing me too much.

@Myth I'd need a Project Vitruvius counter to pull off a 15 subroutine Komainu with only two of them. Was that what you meant with 15 subs?

Nope. To clarify though, I mean 15 subroutines in total to pass over the course of both encounters. Vitruvious would make it 30. Note it says it GAINS a subrouting for the remainder of the run.

So encounter 1: 5 subroutines.

Then Twins

Encounter 2: it keeps those 5 subroutines, and gains 5 additional.

If you have Vitruvious, use it and then it keeps those 10 subroutines + 5 more.

Ok, I've taken suggestions into account. Dumping the EMPs really freed up a lot of deck space. I'll do some testing and keep tweaking.

You could swap the Tsurugi for Merlin to get a bit of influence back, still netting you 6 net damage with the Twins online (and no Merlin in hand), but the option, but can potentially get as high as 12, and it might be easier to land the kill from a code gate. Another option would be Gyri Layrinth, rocketing them down to max hand size one to get zapped by neurals.

If you wanted to keep the Tsurugi, I might cut targeted marketing and a J.How to still include 2x Merlin, which is totally playable out of Foundry as its a potential kill with Twins online, and a decent ICE even without the rest of grail support or a Twins under it. Gyri also can force a flatline if you can double Twins with it.

Of course if a runner encounters a Komainu with a rezzed Twins and they spend a moment thinking about it, they basically lose all their cards in hand on the first go through so that they don't have to pay extra the second time around (or you drive them to zero). In this case it would just be 5 subroutines that would need to be broken, rather than having a multiplying effect.

Using my updated list (no Tsurugi, no Neural EMPs, added Komainu and Melange), I got a double Komainu kill on turn 3 or 4 tonight. The Twins and Komainu and Hedge Fund in the opening hand.

It felt a bit cheap, because who doesn't face check HB?. What I do like about this deck is that I think it still works without the element of surprise, since the threat is so high. In the rematch, Eliza's Toybox seemed to work well to shore up defenses against Valencia Estevez: The Angel of Cayambe.

Melange Mining Corp. was very good. I really want to fit in a current of some kind, as Itinerant Protesters was a terrible pain again.
