Jazz Hands Quetzal

donttalknojive 103

This is a further exploration of the Quetzal e3 archetype that makes use of the strong synergy with Always Be Running.

This deck has favorable matchups against a lot of the common NBN decks and surprisingly fares well against glacier.

Ice destruction and surfing round out your repertoire. Keeping pressure on HQ and R&D helps make those scoring servers less relevant, but it's rare that corps can conjure a server you can't wave your hand to get into.

You will be click starved, often spending 2 extra clicks on your first click run. You will sometimes need to make an unsuccessful run to spend your remaining 3 clicks on setup or installs. Your aggression will keep the corp off balance so the occasional pause won't hurt you too much.

Let me know what you think!

Armitage Codebusting seems like a bad choice for a click starved deck. Maybe Liberated Account, Kati Jones or even making Data Folding work could be better?

Also, a Mimic or 2 could be useful otherwise Architect sucks.

Thanks for the comment!

I originally ran Liberated and found the initial price too high in most situations. You never need 4 credit swings that you get from Lib anyway. A Daily Cast and/or Armitage are enough to pay for your run event and e3. Kati is definitely an option, but it essentially takes two clicks to make any money. Mid-game nearly every turn you have only one click for install/econ. Kati is a big tempo hit because of the 1 click/turn restriction. With Armitage on your buildup turns you can click up three times if you have to. I also considered Data Folding, but I tend to have 3mu used for most of the game so it would be fairly unreliable without mem support which seems like a cumbersome solution.

Architect is only 4 credits and a Cuj.0 counter. I feel like Cuj.0 is better than Mimic because we don't have Datasucker support. Architect has only been a pain early game in my testing so far. I think in all my games I have only had to let it fire once.

Give the deck a shot, see how it plays. You might be surprised.

I play Quetzal for few monts. I try to made deck without breakers.
I build deck "Relase the Kraken" (no breakers), and "Always Be "Fast" Running" (only Mimic for architect).
I think you got a problem with gain credit.
I use Human First, #Data Folding, Daily Casts, Kati Jones and Symmetrical Visage. Ofcourse you use lots of progam, and #Data Folding not work in your deck. If you play Faust you also need quick draw. maybe Wyldside can help.

Look out my deck, maybe you find a solution for play Quetzal with cards, credits and fun ;)
