Pre-rotation decklist |
I played this at the UK 2015 Nationals. Came a respectable 33rd out of 150-odd, posting this up as a couple of people asked to see the list as it was a bit different from the other RP decks.
Main plan: get Wormhole/Sagittarius on the outside of HQ and R&D. Build a scoring server with Wormhole in front of an 'End the run' ICE. Crick on the outside of Archives is great, but if you can get Wormhole/Sagittarius there too later on, so much the better. ICE a second remote with a couple of bits of ICE and, when you get a window where the Runner is temporarily low on resources, install IT Department there. Next turn rez and put three on it. With any luck, you'll soon lock out the runner, being in a position to trash their breakers wherever they run with judicious use of IT Department tokens. That is the perfect endgame for the deck.
I tend to use Akitaro Watanabe/Midori on R&D, and can reshuffle early ICE installations. Chimera is great in front of Sundew before they get their full icebreaker suite out, and with a Dedicated Server, it's even better.
The best thing about this deck is that no-one seems to be expecting it when they see the Jinteki: Replicating Perfection ID card, and even to the extent that two- or three-point agendas are what people seem to be expecting as attempted scores. I always try to score Encrypted Portals early as a preference. That also turned off several currents in the tournament as people didn't seem to prioritise unadvanced cards in an ICE-d remote.

Hello, this is your tournament nemesis here... Can confirm this deck is pretty brutal to play against. My deck is pretty well matched against RP in general, and I was starting to struggle at the end of the game against this! Wormhole is just... Eurgh, and IT Department is horrendous against people who aren't packing d4v1d (...I wasn't). Great to play you again, I hope we can meet at some point not in a tournament and have a friendly game! :P |

D4v1d was the one card I was worried about, and it turned out more people were playing it than I'd expected. It wasn't actually too bad though. There are enough bits of high-strength ICE that the Runner really wants the tokens for that (especially if IT Department is online) one D4v1d installation might only get the Runner a single peek at a remote. I think swift recursion would be needed to constantly threaten with it. The only time D4v1d troubled me all tournament was my own fault: I forgot the ramifications of scoring Encrypted Portals with a D4v1d on the table when a solitary Lotus Field had been happily keeping Yog.0 out of (agenda-laden) HQ all game. Like it! I'm a big fan of Wormhole and like how it combos in this deck.
