Panic Never Dies [NYC Megacity 2025]

RayS 67

Very nearly the same deck as @NotAgain's Tempo Crimes. Direct yourself there for any advice on good netrunner.

Some notes on the differences:

Tranquility Home Grid: wtf, NA, you slotted the third without telling me?? Don't you know I can't make deck decisions myself??? Ok but for real, you need to play three. This was probably the most impactful card in the list.

Hagen: Hagen felt good and I'll probably keep 1x over the third Bran for now.

Greasing the Palm: never felt bad. At the end of day 1, delirious from exhaustion, morose over my losses, and waiting on the train platform I think I pitched @Aureates on Top-Down Solutions as another operation to play off Humanoid Resources and... Wtf. No. That's what Greasing is here for.

Red Level Clearance: yeah a third is probably correct. (Don't ask me about slots. This meta doesn't exist anymore. We're free.)

Other card notes:

Lycian Multi-Munition: this card exists! "But what if they already have breakers installed?" Then rez it? Or don't? Mercifully, it doesn't derez until end of turn, so you can make them pay twice with Anoetic. Buzzsaw is the only breaker (other than Bankhar) that actually makes this feel bad. All that said, I probably still wouldn't play it without...

Mitra Aman: I might play a third if it didn't cost Inf. But also I misplayed this a lot because I'm not used to managing the trigger timing in paper.

Digital Rights Management: I can see the vision now. Sometimes you need the Ingatan/Vuln right now.

Spin Doctor: you really just don't have time to be doing this. Even Sprint would be better because that's at least brainstorming away the extra ice that you're never gonna spend money on.

PD: combined we went 1-6 on the weekend, largely due to misplays, and some due to variance, but also I think it was a tough field. Lots of Sable and a handful of Hoshiko. Shout-out to @Wenjong and @Wyatt for repping purple in the cut. I'm gonna hit y'all (and Laura) up on discord for advice about the real scoring HB deck.

Runner side:

Once again I played AA Zahya. I only dropped one Runner game and it was because I missed a Hermes trigger in the middle of a Cup breach. I wasn't steamrolling the Corp but I did feel like I was in the drivers seat.

Shout outs to,

  • Chia for organizing an incredible event! Everything ran so smoothly!!
  • Lucas, rohit, and Radiant for judging
  • Erika for playing DanDan with me. it was soooo much fun!
  • GG.GG for telling me what decks to bring and supporting me on the day
  • everyone who traveled to come play netrunner with us

and most importantly,

  • Kysra for bringing the trophy back to this side of the Hudson!
