Double Down (1st Wrexham SC)

Took this to the Wrexham SC, packs up to Kala Ghoda. Went 3-1 with both this and Geist for a 1st place finish in the swiss (no cut).

This is more like the old CI lists, with SfSS and Efficiency Committee to score 3/2s out of hand (and 5/3s with multiple shipments). It can struggle against Clot but is more than capable of scoring behind ice and Caprice. The ice suite was designed to be taxing against Faust, but also against shaper rigs with Chameleon and stealth breakers. It uses a similar asset economy engine to FoodCoats, but with the addition of Melange to beat Siphon spam. I'd toyed with SYNC for a while, but expecting a lot of Jes, I decided that this would be a better call.

Round 1: Robert - Noise 7-0

He facechecks an Architect early, and continues several times to avoid running HQ, which he, like a lot of runners, has dismissed as 'not worth it'. He taxes me by attacking my ecenomy and making me rez ice, but continues on Architect until I am comfortably scoring from both hand and deck.

Round 2: Ben - Kate 7-5

He cracks a Hyperdriver turn 2 to try and create an early window, but fizzles. He keeps the pressure on though, scoring Notoriety to get to 5 points and making any top deck a win. I IAA a Hades behind Caprice to try and win out, and a narrow miss from R&D gets me to 7 first.

Round 3: Jonny - Hayley 7-2

Having played Hayley a lot, I know what a beast it can be. He gets set up early, with ProCo, Aesop/Cache and multiple breakers leading the way. An early Fan Site/Artist Colony stops the FA after the first Committee but I'm still scoring behind Turings, which he crucially forgets he can D4v1D through. Again, the IAA a 5/3 play on 4 points keeps me in the game; I think it was the last turn before he saw the first agenda from R&D.

Round 4: Alex - Whizzard 6-7

The dreaded Dumblefork shows his face in the last round, and hammers my economy early on. I just about recover with Melange, and even get to 6 points, but double Medium and no Jacksons left means that the lock is permanent and he swiftly grabs 7 points for the game.

This may not be playable after Business First thanks to a certain criminal run event (seriously, how much does Jens Erickson hate CI?) but I'm fine with this being a last hurrah for it, for a while at least. Some wins felt like they came out of people expecting to go off in one turn, and over-reliance on Clot to stop me. This deck could almost as easily be piloted out of EtF, but the surprise factor it well worth the swap.
