Clone Digestion (Top 4 Rockingham West Aus SC)

Anzekay 390

Deck went 3-1 in Swiss (17 players) but lost its only game in the top 4. Wins against Kate, Noise and Kit. Lost against Kate (the same won as earlier in the day) and Quetzal.

Anarch ice destruction is pretty hot in my local meta, as seems to be the case world-wide, so I'd been experimenting with different HB builds designed to counteract that. From Reclamation Order to Team Sponsorship and the like, I'd had varied amounts of success.

At the last minute I ended up going in a different direction- instead of relying on ice recursion I would instead alter my econ slightly to remove the necessity for more than one iced remote server. With launch campaign instead of eve all my econ assets would cycle through my scoring server quickly, and also allow me to place Breaker Bay there to cheapen Ash/Caprice/CVS. Restructure then made up for the rest.

I also cut one Caprice to allow for using Eli (and an extra architect) instead of the NEXT suite I'd been previously using. NEXT is excellent against Crim/Shaper, but suffered greatly against Anarch in games where I wasn't able to properly recur them.

Hudson was a late addition designed purely to be placed on R&D (or HQ against Crim). 3c for a 5str ice that the runner essentially always has to break? Sounds like a good deal to me. Turns out I was right, and the card was an invaluable part of the deck every game I drew it.

Chronos Project was an great addition- it literally won me the game against Noise after I was able to Biotic it out with 4 cards left in his deck, and was also potent against the Kate deck in the first round.

My only two losses on the day came down to a mixture of player error and sheer bad luck. My loss in swiss came from me rezzing a caprice (to protect herself) against a Quetzal who had Hackivist Meeting up, and I lost the GFI in hand which they promptly scooped up. At the time I hadn't realised they'd lost their Levy and had nothing left to recur it with, and I could've simply scored out with them only having 3 cards left to Faust with. That's what I get for not checking the board state! The loss in the top 4 came down to a 1 in 3 chance of an access from HQ when I had my winning agenda safely tucked into my remote. The stupid mistake here was when I drew the turn before and forgot to use my Jackson. That would've upped the chance in my favour to 1 in 4. Alternatively I could've attempted to Biotic out the 3/2 and forced them to use both clone chips to stop me, and trashed at least one potentially key program in the process (2 clone chips on the field, one for SMC, the other after I use CVS) which might have prevented them from getting into HQ.

Overall I was really impressed with the deck, and I'm unsure if I'll make any significant changes to it in the short term.
