Herbarts Nexus Kate

Klopstock 641

Pretty standard Nexus Kate, with standard Shaper-playstyle. Use the first couple of turns to set-up, then lock the Corp on both the Remote and R&D. For a really good writeup on Nexus Kate look here.

The 46th card in this deck is the Feedback Filter, if you know you are not facing Jinteki you can safely cut it, but I always found the little added incosistency extremely worth it. Tutored by Artist Colony and fueled by Beth, Opus and Mr. Phones it makes all the Net Damage-heavy matchups that much easier.

Regarding the influence: Most if it is fixed in my opinion and should not be meddled with.

  • You need 2 Nexi as it is your main breaker in this deck. Actually 3 wouldn't be too bad, but you definitely can't spare the influence, so 2 is the sweet spot here.
  • The Clot is also very much necessary. This deck can be quite slow, so you need a way to stop the Corp from rushing out the first points behing gearcheck and Fast Advancing for the win. Clot is the obvious go-to here.
  • Clone Chip is also an all-around very good card, refilling your Cerberus "Lady" H1, recurring your Clot, resetting your Cyber-Cypher, reusing your SMC and protecting you from program trashing. You could make an argument for one or three, but I think 2 is the right number.

These are the ones that should stay in the deck in my opinion. The rest can be tinkered with, although this setup definitely works well.

  • Employee Strike is card, which is really good in the current meta (at the time of Quorum) and something I would much rather add a second one of. instead of cutting it at the moment. That may change as the meta changes, though.
  • Vamp is a card that I used relatively rarely, but is very strong in the right circumstances - and I am pretty sure I used it too little times. This deck eclipses basically every Corp economically sooner or later and has no problem getting into a normally relatively lightly defended HQ to take away the Corp's money. Especially strong against trap decks.
  • Cerberus "Lady" H1. Because Inti is great and everything, but you do not want to rely on it as your only Fracter. You could swap this one with Snowball. You would lose lots of efficiency, but gain some Influence. Your call.
  • Many other lists do not play a Mimic, but I really like it. If you do not play Mimic, Atman is your only Breaker who can break Sentries. Especially when facing Jinteki with their lots of Sentries or HB, where your Atman can only either break Ichis or Architects, your Nexus and Atman may not be enough, therefor I feel much safer with a Mimic in the deck.

Possible includes for spare influence:

  • As described above, Employee Strike is a potent Current and a second would definitely be worth it.
  • If you have problems with Caprice and Batty, you could either include Rumor Mill or a Political Operative - who also deals nicely with any Off the Grid-shenanigans you might encounter.
  • A third Clone Chip is not necessary, but maybe your meta is extremely trash-happy or you need more Clots.

Am I Deck of the Week yet?
