Flic-Flac - The World's Fastest Spider

Weltgeist 256

Sick kickflips: coming soon to a Corp near you! This deck is named for the world's fastest spider - Cebrennus rechenbergi, the cartwheeling huntsman spider. Like our arachnid friend, the goal here is to do sick flips in order to go really, really fast. The core idea is built on two pillars:

I've tinkered with tempo A Teia, but never quite got it to click. Thankfully, RWR gave us two essential tools: Cohort Guidance Program and Boto. The first enables your most ambitious kickflips, while the second is surprisingly annoying for a lot of runners to deal with in the early-mid game. By the time your ice starts getting too porous, you should be already threatening to score out.

Some fun combo lines to consider:

  1. Have a Cohort Guidance Program but no face-down cards in Archives? Trash an unrezzed ice with Timely Public Release in order to toss down an agenda in the other remote, flip the face-down ice you just trashed face up, and score a 4/2 from hand.
  2. Have the win in the remote but the runner got their rig set up? Pull a Border Control out of archivesand toss it on the innermost position. See the light go out of the runner's eyes.
  3. If you're really in the driver's seat, consider feeding the runner a Bacterial Programming. This was the trick that won me the game vs. Diogene - I put Bacterials in both servers. He stole one, which allowed me to draw into the combo pieces I needed to score the other.

Other notes:

  1. 21 points is for sure incorrect, and Offworld Office only kind of fits the game plan. I think the next version will contain 2 Bacterial, 2 Offworld, and 2 Nisei Mark II.

  2. I probably undervalue how good Tributary is in this deck. I'd probably cut a Thimblerig for another Tributary.

  3. Charlotte Caçador is totally fine as a bridge and gets you some extra value out of La Costa Grid but I'm... not entirely convinced.

Anyway, had a blast playing this - went 2-1 at the MTL CO, losing the last match after going 5-0 very early to bad flood but clawing my way back to winning the very next turn, were it not for a single Bacterial off the top of R&D. Such is life.

Amazing deck! Losing a combo of Timely Public Release putting a Bacterial Programming in a remote to be advanced then by Cohort Guidance Program and Seamless Launch for the win on that turn was EPIC! Really worth it! Cheers!

@DiogeneThank you so much! Yeah I didn't even realize that line of play was available until it appeared during our game. Feels pretty wild.

@jan tuno Thank you! It's an absolute blast to play, I highly recommend giving it a go.

@Weltgeist - How do you feel about Attini of Vampyrenessa? Vampy feels better in a deck that wants to go a bit faster right?

@Baa Ram WuVampy I think is correct here, yeah. I kinda eyeballed the math on Attini vs. Vampy but I definitely think I made the wrong call here. Keep an eye out for Flic-Flac 2.0
