Pandora's archivE v4.3 (2-2 @ AMT)

imyxh 32

This is an updated version of my first Pandora's archiveE deck.

This AMT was my first tournament, and I was honestly not expecting to win any games, but this deck did much better than expected. One of the losses was from decking after a lucky snipe of my would-be game-winning Regenesis and the other was mostly due to econ problems.

This is a little different from most PE decks, because it wants to dump basically all its agendas into archives at first sight. The main point of the deck is the combo:

  1. have Fuji and two other agendas in Archives
  2. install Regenesis and Moon Pool
  3. score Regenesis using Moon Pool's ability and a manual advancement, adding Fuji to your score area for a total of 4 points on one turn.

When you're done feeling giddy after pulling that off, either do it again, or score three points some other way to win the game.

The entire rest of the deck is just trying to protect centrals. Archives is protected by making sure that if the runner runs it, they flatline from forced agenda steals, and R&D is protected by the threat of Fuji or Snare. Having a few copies of Anemone and Data Loop on Archives and R&D back up those threats. Daniela usually goes on R&D for the same reason.

Protecting HQ is very difficult, and is probably the weakest point of the deck. The best solution I've found so far is Mirāju to shuffle away agendas, but then clever runners will break the subroutine over and over to force you to keep paying the rez cost. So it's best to have Mirāju behind some kind of more taxing ice.

FAQ:

  • Don't you lose to SimulchipClot?
    • It sucks but it's workable. Make them run out of Simulchips somehow, probably by sacrificing a Moon Pool to bluff a combo on something that isn't actually Regenesis.
    • This deck should probably have Mavirus nonetheless.
  • Don't you lose to Hush?
    • Probably. But all the cool decks lose to Hush so whatever.
  • I never have money. What am I doing wrong?
  • I keep running out of cards for Anemone. And how do I get my agendas into archives?
    • Try applying rule 5.2.7c.

Potential revisions:

  • I'm on the fence about if Phoneutria is taxing enough or if it should be swapped with something else.
  • Mavirus could perhaps replace Kakurenbo (which is currently here for Hybrid Release purposes and to guard against runner abilities that trash agendas faceup).
  • I've toyed with the idea of a 54-card version of this with Longevity Serum but having an agenda worth more points than the damage it deals really hurts the Archives math. Anoetic might help with that.
  • A version of this exists in A Teia, which lets you run the combo with one fewer agenda in Archives because you have another click to advance manually. But then you have to come up with a whole new way of protecting Archives, which I haven't yet figured out.

Reviews:

  • Fridan: Your corp was super cool btw (runner)
  • OF15-15: cool deck (runner)
  • sirivanhoe2: mind numbing (runner)
  • Squeeeeeege: okay i think i like netrunner a lot less after winning that game (corp)
  • someone conceding immediately after joining (runner)

Shoutout to Squeeeeeege and PiCat for putting up with this crap and to Diogene for telling me about Data Loop. You are all complicit.

I take no responsibility for the pain this has and will cause in the future

Heya, just saw your game with Ysengrin on his stream the other day. I am confused about the utility of Divert Power and why he didn’t trash your Snares (thus making it easy for you to rez that Loop). Are people not trashing Snares for some reason these days? Or is the DP there to repeatedly land the Anemone damage?

@scd: I think in general a lot of players have built an intuition to not trash things they don't need to, because of cards like Oppo Research and Hangeki (which was in v1 of this deck). Had Ysengrin seen my decklist, I think it would've been obvious that trashing the snare is strictly correct there.

Indeed, Divert Power is in here mostly to reset Anemone (or occasionally Spin Doctor)—the credits you save is just kind of a nice bonus on the side. This is vital because otherwise the runner can run Archives, disarm all the Anemones and jack out, and then at some later point steal all the agendas there without dying.
