Aggressive Trendsetting is to asset spam what Stegodon MK IV is to glacier. A tax on the runner.

This agenda is made for Poétrï Luxury Brands: All the Rage, because it tax the runner from trashing cards installed by the identity. But in my opinion, it shines best with Thule Subsea: Safety Below to form a kind of near click prison. If the runner score an agenda, they are taxed with 1 and 2. And if the runner runs an asset, they are taxed the trash cost of the asset and 1. If you add cards like Active Policing, Mr. Hendrik, Pulse and Hypoxia, the runner will be easily be taxed 1 nearly each turn on average.

The issue of the agenda is the same as Stegodon MK IV : it is a 3-1 agenda, the least efficient to score and it need to be scored early to have a real impact. Which incentive the corp to have 3x of Aggressive Trendsetting. Forcing the corp to have more agendas. 2x is usually enough though.

Depending on the board state and how fast can the runner setup, this agenda can be useless or game winning. In every case, it will be impactful.

Art is nice and very evocative of the name of the agenda, going well with the quote. And the effect is hinted at by the whole design. Well done.

Aggressive Trendsetting (🐟👗) is “purple AR-Enhanced Security”. But:

  • It triggers off installed-only, not anywhere. (In particular, you can still R&D-lock them with Stargate.)

  • It costs [click] (if you don't allot them), which is less than 2[$], [click] (if you detag immediately).

AT (like ARES):

  • protects assets with a “click-tax” (dragging the Runner down to three-click turns like the Corp, all else equal).
  • is “self”-Fast-Advancing. Being a 3/Y (and being in decks with fast-advance/asset-spam cards): you can FA it with a single Nanomanagement; you can NA it, spamming it out with a single Top-Down Solutions. In particular, once the 1st is scored, the 2nd/3rd copies get easier and easier to score.

PS. While AT is no ARES, I wish NSG printed more agendas that explicitly incentivized “rectangularity” (IE. single-iced servers, like Fully Operational does). Not just “horizontality” (like Trendsetting) or “verticality” (like Sisyphus Protocol). But maybe you'll want to ice your spam with a single Bioroid, to pinch their clicks? (IDK yet, but that'd be cool.)

Flavor-wise, the Runner must constantly follow/purchase new trends (like the aquarium-suit in the artwork) for social-engineering and/or counter-propaganda, which wastes their time.
